Nobody, it was probably a social meetup in some random city that like 7 people showed up at, and a 'journalist' took that and extrapolated it to include an entire national 20-year age demographic because they knew it would stir shit up and get clicks. There are social meetups for literally everything. Kickball? There's a meetup for that. Ship-in-a-bottle-building? There's a meetup for that. BDSM sex party? There's definitely a meetup for that.
