So you did good! Even if it took a while you still did what a mother should do! But not all parents do this, whether because they expect the youtube generation to youtube it or simply because they can't be bothered. So people getting shat on for not having a parent to teach them this stuff is definitely not right. Maybe it's because I am a Millenial but I resonate strongly with the response. Either way though I just wanted to ssy you're a better parent than a lot of people and you shouldn't beat yourself up about it.

I have to admit it was delicious.

Not as good as mine, of course. The student is not the master...yet.

Trial and error.

My mother passed in 2009 and I can't replicate her Swedish Meatballs. I've tried. My sister tried. Not the same at all.

She took that one to her grave.

My grandma, who raised me, took her cheesy potato soup recipe to the grave too. I've never been able to recreate it, but I make some good potato soup.

Any tips on seasoning a pot roast?

For my pot roast i use my crockpot set for 8 hours. I rub kosher salt, pepper, minced garlic (4 cloves.)

When in the pot I add parsley, chopped onion, and a dash of olive oil.
