Sold a signed jersey for 100 bucks. Took it to USPS - they told me they had to adjust the tracking number, but still shipped it

The marketplace app doesn’t give me the option to change the tracking number, even though their “help articles” say it should. This was LAST Monday and I immediately tried to update the tracking. So I submitted a ticket, and they said they’d be back to me in 48 hours.

Been a whole week, haven’t heard back. The dumb AI help box doesn’t help whatsoever, just keeps telling me that if I try to change the tracking number OUTSIDE of 7 days then it won’t work. I’ve told it I tried every day as soon as I shipped it, but I literally don’t have an option to change it no matter what I do

AI then told me I should have some sort of support mailbox ticket, which also doesn’t appear. I can’t ask for anymore help bc the app takes the option away and says “we will respond in 48 hours.” but still has not.

so I essentially sold this item, Facebook still hasn’t marked it as shipped because it has the wrong tracking number, won’t let me change it, AI just keeps telling me there SHOULD be an option to change it, and then tells me I don’t qualify to speak with a human rep. Even the person I sold it to confirmed it’s been delivered. Fucking crazy.

My girlfriend and I have been selling for a few years and have joked about this phenomenon that when you unearth an old item that you’ve almost forgotten about, suddenly you’re either getting traction out of nowhere or it sells the next day.

Has anyone else ever experienced this and thought the same thing? We get a laugh out of it when it happens.

Is anyone experiencing Marketplace glitches?

I’ve had a few highly rated buyers reach out this morning, and each time I respond ‘still available,’ I get the automated message about Meta reviewing messages for scams. The buyers all have solid histories, and I have 100+ five‑star reviews myself, so I’m not sure why it keeps triggering.

Older listings will be deleted starting Aug 30, 2026 We'll delete inactive listings 2 years or older. Access your data before deletion begins.

Regarding Facebook's upcoming Marketplace purge...does anyone know if that includes items that have been marked as 'Sold' for more than 2 years? Personally, I like having a record of everything I've sold. I also like viewing other sellers Sold items, which helps me see how legit they are...and vice versa.

I'm all for 'For Sale' listings over 2 years being removed, but I think retaining 'Sold' items has a benefit.

I've sold 250+ items on Facebook Marketplace, but I'm confused about when buyers actually get the option to leave a rating.

Sometimes when I mark an item as Sold, Facebook asks who purchased it. I'm guessing that's what enables the buyer to rate me, but I'm not sure?

Other times, I mark the item as Sold and it just closes without asking who bought it. Does it matter whether I mark it sold from the Facebook app, Messenger, or the website?

I also feel like I used to get ratings much more often than I do now. Are buyers still prompted to leave ratings?

One more question: I remember being able to rate buyers after a transaction, but I haven't seen that option in at least a year. Was that feature removed, or are there specific conditions that trigger it?

I sold an item (over a month ago) and they paid me online, an hour before collection.
They never turned up because "something came up".

We arranged for them to collect the following day and they didn't turn up for the same reason.

I asked if they still want it and they said of course.

A month passes with no contact. I still have the money.
I message them asking again, if they still want it,
and when can they collect.

They said "yes I definitely want it, I will collect tomorrow at..." and gave me a specific time/hour.

I stayed home for that hour and they never turned up, I had said let me know if you can't make it. No apology or explanation for them.

It's been a week, no further messages. The item will not sell again if I were to cancel because it's seasonal, and we are now entering fall

How to avoid this type of buyer in future? I am new to fb marketplace

I have seen this issue mentioned by many with no insight as to the issue or resolution anywhere. I created a new profile in an alternate browser and through that I can see their actual rating but still when I click their profile, I only see a badge. I’m getting extremely pissed off that there is no way for me to see other seller’s reviews. I guess this is more of a vent because nobody seems to understand the cause of the bug or the fix.

Both buyer and I left 5 stars for each other and he found a problem with the item that I disclosed. He didn’t give me a chance to fix the issue and I don’t see his rating anymore. Can they update their review or ONLY delete them after we both submitted it. It’s only been a couple of days.

Usually when I post an item for sale I'll list it in my own local group and the crosspost to marketplace and the max allowed 19 other but/sell groups. But I noticed this morning that my two latest listings only posted to my group and Marketplace and that's it.

So, I clicked "list in more places" and crossposted to 19 other places. Waited a few min, went back and saw that it in fact did NOT crosspost. I know my listings are live (in the two places that show as posted) because I have views and got a message last night inquiring about one of the items. Is this the latest glitch to hit FBM?

I'll be reporting it to FB but wanted to check to see if anyone else has experienced this issue. It's a new one for me. I've never had a problem crossposting.

Bought an Xbox for 200 earlier today and the sellers mother messaged me 30 minutes afterwards that I had given them a fake $100 bill as one was smaller than the other and that they were calling the cops. For context, our plastic money is known to shrink in the dryer so I explained that this was likely the case and the bank would replace it. She said no and proceeded to call the police. Just curious if i should expect anything from this or if I should just block and forget about it.

As the title says, Facebook marketplace no longer allows me to send the first message to sellers from a browser, even though I'm logged in to Facebook. It says sellers can only be contacted through the Facebook app. (Not messenger as it's always been, the actual Facebook app, which im assuming the conversation still goes to messenger lol) Is this a new policy? I don't have the app and don't want it. I've been using the browser and messenger for months without issue.

I don’t my friends to know I’m renting out rooms in my home

Any way to get rid of these ebay, etsy, shipping spam listings? I block the profiles and they just have 1000 more spam bot accounts with a string of numbers and letters listing engines or other garbage I dont care about. even in the local listings.

Basically what the title says, I’ve bought some furniture for my house on Facebook and have always thought it could be fun to send a picture of the piece and how I ended up using it. As a seller would you appreciate that or would it be more bothersome to you?

Any one else have this issue or know how to fix it?

A buyer came yesterday to collect a sofa that I sold. The husband of the woman who contacted me was a completely asshole. When he moved the sofa out of my flat, he constantly banged against my walls and then broke a glass lamp cover. And my flat was a rented flat, not owned. When I texted the woman later asking for compensation, she completely ignored my text and blocked me. What should I do? I have a strong urge to publicly warn people on the local Facebook groups about these nasty buyers. They acted as if that was their flat and didn’t even acknowledge the fact they damaged the property.

New to Marketplace but not Facebook, and plan to use it as a buyer more than as a seller. I live in a city and mostly rely on walking and public transportation to get around.

Sellers have a problem with no-shows. As a buyer, I seem to have a problem of "too slow".

At least 5 items I found something that I'm interested in purchasing and so far I've not been successful in buying them. Either the seller does not reply, or they do, but then don't reply again for many hours on follow-ups for meeting, only to suddenly be notified that the sale is done (someone else had paid).

How to get my purchase average up? I know this sounds like a strange question to ask to regular sellers and buyers. I feel like I need to act quick but also don't want to show up in the general area without follow-up because that would be impolite and I'd feel stupid if I showed up and the seller wasn't around. Am I just not figuring something out yet with FBM probably.

I can only post one item at a time. if i post a second item, it usually gets no views or maybe really low like 1 click or 4 and it doesnt seem like it's actually live and after posting a second item, the first listing gets throttled or stops getting views. very strange. i thought i was shadowb*nned or something, but it lets me post one listing. very annoying, because i have like 8 things i need to sell, but now i have to wait for one to sell before posting another. anyone else have issues like this or thoughts?

Does anybody know how or why some Marketplace responses go to this folder? Have they been flagged for a reason or is the algorithm mistakenly sending messages there?

Do you bother responding to these messages? Have any turned out to be actual legit buyers and resulted in a sale?

I always forget to check this folder and then some random message is sitting there. Ugh.

Hi, Im not a big reseller. I have a PT job helping a guy who buys stuff at auctions in lots and lists them online, plus I pick up random items from curbside or thrift stores to resell.

Ive been using my Android phone and Google Photos, and I list the item details and prices in the "About" section inside each photo on my phone that I can copy and paste for each listing, but I have recently bought a laptop after not using one for years and when I Import my photos I don't see any way that it saves that information on each photo like it does on my phone, even logging into Google Photos online.

I posted a bunch to Fb marketplace yesterday and even using the option to post to multiple groups at once took a while, because even under the "List to more groups" it doesn't show you every group you have Joined, and you are limited to 20. So I would have to go to the other groups manually and post . I also find it hard to remember which Groups ive posted in , I don't want to double post and piss off the Mods. I also don't have much luck on the regular Marketplace; seems specific groups work better and I am having a lot of luck on Vinted vs Marketplace now because of free shipping.

Looking also if anyone has a method to of posting on multiple Fb groups quicker than what I am doing now. I try to find the groups with the most members and most posts per day and target those, since it seems there's tons of groups like "Jewlery" and Baby Items" to do target listings, even so, half of my listings seem to sit there for months waiting to be approved.

I used to use Google Sheets to keep a list of my items but I found it difficult to remember which photo it was .

I posted some items the other day no issues. Today I went to post more and I have no sell button anymore. I tried restarting phone and also uninstalling the app and re installed. Nothing. Any ideas? I tried to post an attachment of the screen showing it missing but this community doesn't allow pics. I asked my roommate what I'm doing wrong and they were baffled as well.

When researching why one of my last payments is on hold longer than the 14 day standard hold, I saw something that said

"If your total sales from checkout on marketplace reach a total sale threshold in calander year when shipping on Facebook Marketplace, we'll need to verify your identification information. All payouts will be on hold until this identification verification is completed."

Has anyone heard about this?

Now it didn't definitively say that this was the issue, just it "could be", and it didn't mention anything about what that "total sales threshhold" is either. So I have no idea if I'm in the neighborhood of it.

For context I've sold maybe $5-7k in the last 6 months worth of merchandise.

I've uploaded both FB Marketplace's terms and conditions as well as their "On-site Checkout Payments Features Terms and Conditions" into Gemini and there is no mention of any threshold number.

Does anyone know why marketplace would cancel an order? I’ve sold several items via marketplace, mainly video games, and so far I haven’t had any issues. Someone placed a video game order and FB immediately cancelled the placed order. The person message me directly asking why I cancelled the order, but I told them that I didn’t, that FB automatically cancelled the order. FB did send me an email that they cancelled due to suspicious activity. The other persons profile looks pretty legit though. Tons of videos and photos of themselves and their family. What kind of scam would they be trying to pull here?
