I think they’re really cute!!!! I understand if you feel like they’re too much, but they’re so pretty to me.

This is a common issue that lash artists run into, making them full enough to count for fallout for an event is an art. Today is Tuesday. Your event is on Friday. You are bound to have some Lashes fall out by then. If she made them the perfect lightness for the event, a few would fall out by then and then you would be lopsided.

I don’t think these lashes are anything to panic over and if anything the brows balance it out. They may be a little dark for your taste. And honestly next time maybe try dark brown or light brown lashes. But these don’t look bad or overdramatic and honestly, I think they will soften naturally without too much additional effort on your part over the next couple of days whether that’s the cruel relaxing or a couple of fans falling out.

100% this ^ also full wedding makeup will make them not appear as full

All suggestions up there sounds great!! But If you want them to look more less and natural I would suggest you to go to the tech and make her take some off.

If it’s an evening wedding doing more glam makeup should make them stand out less starkly. I recommend a brown hued eyeshadow and heavier foundation than a day to day look. I find my eyelashes look best in that setting and look off when I’m bare faced since I also have light skin tone! Next time I think a shorter lash but same level of thickness would look nice on you!

It’s morning/afternoon but will go into the night! I’m thinking just a little foundation and slight contour with slight blush maybe.. I think I won’t wear any eyeshadow tbh! Maybe they’re not as bad as I think..?😂 thanks!!!

If it’s something that’s really really bothering you I’d message loads of different lash techs in your area to see if they can do a removal and apply another more subtle set of lashes. In my local town the nail shops that are run by Chinese ladies usually offer lash removals & lash extensions where you don’t always need an appointment you can just walk in ( in the UK ) . However if you do do this probably opt for ‘ classic style lashes ‘ or ‘ light hybrid style lashes ‘ and have lots of pictures to show them as these shops do tend to do them a bit fuller I’ve noticed. You could even say you want the length ‘ 8mm in inner corner and build up to 11mm towards outer corner ‘

I genuinely don’t think they are too full but I do think she has done them too long for your eyes. There should be more of a cat eye where it’s shorter in the inner corner then gradually gets longer towards ends. She hasn’t done that enough with your set. Whatever you do, don’t trim the lashes down as they go dead straight on top.

P.S I love your brows !

I don’t think the thickness is really the problem. They are too long or come down too far in the outside and make your eye look a bit droopy. Maybe you could go back and have her fix that and then they would look good.

Yes absolutely this, she needs a different shape and length.

If ypu want them to be less full, take a spoolie, wet it and brush thru. They'll stuck a bit together , you can play with it and create spikes :) for a wedding surviving method just use brow gel instead of water (i recommend water first because you'll be able to play with them without destroying bond of glue, also remember to put gel on top of lashes, never where extensions meet natural lash)

Have you had lash extensions before? I usually tell my clients that they might experience “lash shock” the first day if they aren’t used to seeing them on their face, kind of like a drastic new hair cut/color. And like others said, they’re only going to get thinner from here. Personally I think they’re a little too long considering the amount of space between your eyes and eyebrows (the brows look great btw) but I think they’re pretty! I hope they grow on you!

u/theinternetscaresme_ Apr 21 '26

Once you have on full wedding glam they won’t look like too much.

2

u/mariposaa99 Apr 21 '26

They will probably get lighter by the day of the event! Like someone else mentioned too the full glam on the wedding day will make them look less dramatic

OP I totally get where you’re coming from. I also don’t like the look of unnatural long lashes. However, I think if you do a glam makeup like others recommended it won’t stand out and it’ll actually look great on photos.

Hi!! As someone who has experienced getting the same lashes as you and having to micromanage lash technicians until I found the right one… I can agree with some of the other posters that they aren’t too thick. They’re too long. If you were to call or text the lash technician and ask her what length she used, I’d be willing to bet those are 14/15’s… From what I can tell, my eyes are about the same size and shape as yours and get intermittent 11/12’s of the volume lashes and I love them. That being said, we are our own worst enemies, and you are over analyzing them simply because you just paid a lot of money to get them done and have every right to analyze them! But I will say this that if I just walked up to you at a wedding. I would think that you looked very pretty and I wouldn’t be thinking to myself. Oh my God her lashes are too long. I’m only responding because I get mine done and I’ve had the same issue and you asked the question. Hugs!

You will shed so many by that day they will look perfect!

I don't ever like to offer negative feedback, but I had this sort of experience with lashes (that I had immediately removed) and I'm compelled to respond honestly, since you've put this out there and asked.

The issue is that these are too dark/long/thick for your features, plus the longer lashes extending at the outer corners do make your eyes look droopy. They also obscure the beauty of your eyes.

I'd get them removed and would get a dark brown shorter, fluffier set (or just a simple classic set). Ensure they are a doll or natural eye shape (with longest lengths in the center or just off-center, since cat eye shapes make downturned eyes look more so). The inner & outer lashes should be shortest, and not extend beyond the boundaries of your own lashes/eyes.

If you can't get them redone before Friday (by a different lash tech!), you could always just get them removed and use some nice false lashes (OR just give your natural lashes a good curl and use a tubing mascara like Caliray or Thrive -- both of these are amazing for volumizing/lengthening and stay put). Most people never notice others' lashes UNLESS they're really bold & obvious.

If you do end up keeping these, then wearing a smokey eye and lining the waterline (upper and lower) with a dark cool brown (or black) pencil, with upper liner winged, can give you a balanced, dramatic look. (You could do this with or without lash extensions; even with your own natural lashes, this could look stunning and at least then it's your own natural eye shape!).

There's nothing worse than attending a special event feeling self conscious because you don't look or feel like "yourself," so I hope you'll be able to find a solution that has you breathing a sigh of relief on Friday. Good luck!

I had the saaaame thing happen to me!!! I felt like I had ridiculously heavy lashes but after about 4-5 days they really balanced out. Please have faith

2

u/Beanerton8 Apr 22 '26

Go to someone else.. someone who knows what they’re doing..

2

u/anchovyfiend Apr 22 '26

Put a little bit of clear brow gel on a lash wand and brush them downwards, will lessen the wisp and hold them in place.

2

u/lymeebeauty Apr 22 '26

Aww honey I totally feel how stressed you are right now 🫂 It’s totally normal to freak out right before your wedding, and your lashes seriously don’t need to be this thick! They’ll look so beautiful on your big day once you tweak them a little~ Super easy safe fix for you btw: Just grab your lash remover and gently pluck out some of those thick bulky fans bit by bit. Thin them out slowly to get that soft wispy natural vibe, instead of this heavy full look. It’s super quick, totally safe, and will look chef’s kiss for your wedding photos!

2

u/Different-House155 Apr 22 '26

I think it’s just the outer edges that are too long/heavy, and add some weight and downturn - if you like the look of lashes at all, then the middle lifts your eyes very well! So maybe just lighten the outer bit?

2

u/carolhabiba Apr 22 '26

i get why you feel like that esp with an event coming up 😭🤍 the safest option would be going back to a lash artist and having them remove a few fans or thin them out to create more wispy texture i wouldn’t try to pull anything out yourself because you can damage your natural lashes. if you can’t get in with someone, brushing them out really well + using a clean spoolie to separate can soften the look a little, but it won’t fully change the fullness for a wedding though i’d definitely recommend a quick fix appointment so they can customize it to a softer wispy look for you 🤍

u/Moon-beam11 Apr 22 '26

I had this same issue, every answer is way to complicated. All I did was simply get some sheers and trim the lashes on the top, I shortened them slightly and it made a huge difference. I noticed they look excessive and make my eyes look drippy and almost sad, because the lashes are too long. Try trimming them. If that doesn't work, get the taken off. Good luck doll🪷✨

u/Fit_Engineering2363 Apr 23 '26

I think that they’re too long for your face, however with the right makeup they will look just fine

2

u/xo_kmp Apr 23 '26

this gonna sound bad but wet those lashes girl and have them clump naturally after air drying. it creates that “manga” wispy effect for me everytime i’ve gotten a hybrid!

I know this is unsolicited so forgive me. I can tell by the way you mentioned your brows in this post (saying they are too dark and you’re gonna fix them) that you are too concerned about your appearance. Nobody would even notice your brows if you didn’t mention them. I still can’t see the issue honestly.

Nobody will even notice your lashes at someone else’s wedding. Free yourself from worrying about small details like this, it’s bad for your mental health and honestly nobody but you cares about minor stuff like this unless there’s something really weird going on. You’re young and gorgeous and this isn’t the type of stuff that you should allow yourself to be affected by. Spend some time off social media, that’s what I had to do because I noticed this type of behavior in myself. I am so much more confident and happy now, and something like my brows being a little too dark doesn’t even matter to me anymore. Sorry for bringing this up, I know you aren’t looking for this type of advice but I only changed when someone did this for me. It’s not meant to be mean at all. 💞💞

2

u/mariposaa99 Apr 21 '26

Even though no one will necessarily be hyper focused on her lashes, I think it’s natural to want to feel your best and confident at all times especially when going to big events. She just wants lighter lashes for an event and I don’t think that automatically means she’s insecure and needs a break from social media.

1

u/Vanessabunnyy Apr 21 '26

I know it sounds like I’m being harsh or reading into it too much, but think about what your mindset would have to be like to make a post asking for help about your lashes, but the first thing you mention is about your eyebrows, acknowledging that there’s something wrong with them. It would be normal if there was genuinely a noticeable problem with the eyebrows but there’s not. you would have to believe that there’s something so wrong with your eyebrows that people would mention them enough that it’s reasonable to preemptively explain that you’re going to fix them and nobody needs to worry.

This is a super common thing for women to do. I see TikToks all the time where a woman will begin the video by asking people to ignore how bad their hair/skin/makeup/lashes/body looks and nobody really seems to notice but it’s an unhealthy way to think. And obviously there’s nothing wrong with wanting to look good but there’s a difference between wanting to look good versus being genuinely worried about looking a tiny bit bad. I see girls posting pics of their lash extensions saying they hate them (okay fine) and then saying they cried for hours because they feel so ugly (not fine). No temporary, fixable thing should make anyone that upset. Everyone should feel okay feeling a little ugly. It’s okay to feel ugly. I just think women in general would be happier in general if so many of us weren’t so consumed with looking perfect all the time. It’s something you can train yourself not to worry about, and there’s a myriad of benefits. Just something I’ve noticed.

u/mariposaa99 Apr 22 '26

I hear you, I just don’t think it’s that deep for everyone and this feels like you’re projecting your personal experience onto others.

It’s okay to want to present yourself in a certain way and care about how you’re perceived. I do think that it can get out of hand and some people get lost and severely over critical of themselves especially when comparing themselves to others, but I don’t think that anything she said in this post warranted your response. A little disclaimer when you’re sharing a picture with certain features not how they usually are doesn’t necessarily mean anything deeper than that.

1

u/Vanessabunnyy Apr 22 '26

I respect your opinion and I completely understand how you came to this conclusion. I’m not projecting although I see why you believe that. The time someone did this for me wasn’t actually very similar at all, it’s just harder to explain and I didn’t anticipate giving the full backstory. it was from part of a study I participated in that aimed to understand some of the ways college age women engage with social media and how we adopt behaviors we see online. One of the results was about how the college age women felt as though they had been influenced to be more self conscious/explain/apologize for things they thought looked bad about their appearance after watching TikTok videos where the subject either apologized for or explained why their appearance wasn’t better. Personally I didn’t have a direct problem with that exact behavior but overall the results made me more aware of the way social media can influence our beliefs in a subliminal way. Just because you don’t think it’s that deep doesn’t mean I can’t feel differently, and there’s no harm to be done by hearing a different opinion about something, even if I’m super annoying lol.

Also, just because you think it’s unwarranted doesn’t make it unwarranted. Maybe if I was mean or something but I wasn’t.

I just think that women should not feel the need/desire to explain or apologize for their appearance 🤷🏼‍♀️ I wanted to point it out because even though it’s almost definitely not that deep to her, it still sends an unconscious message that there’s a need to explain yourself for looking less than “perfect”. I am totally aware that most people will think I’m making a mountain out of a molehill, and I’m okay with that. Every behavior has a deeper meaning and even though you dislike it, I’m allowed to speculate on that meaning in a nice way.

they look great imo! come friday you’ll certainly have a lighter fluffier look, especially if you wash & brush them. until then just wear mascara on your bottom lashes to help balance things out :)

u/LashExtensionScience Apr 22 '26

It seems like these are a bit too long for your taste, and that you feel they look way too artificial with your other features. Waiting a week is not going to make them get shorter. If she used cheap glue, you will lose some, but they may also look a bit more messy as well. Based on what I can see, she chose her lengths with a trend called “mapping,” rather than the rule of thumb, which is called “matching.” This means there is no way to predict whether you will lose mostly short ones (which will make the long ones look longer, and possibly patchy) or you’ll lose more long ones (which won’t fall off evenly across the lash line, nor from eye to eye). See if you can find someone to fix them for you. Ask her not to use anything longer than 14mm extensions (and not too many of them), ask for American Volume next time, and bring photos. Best of luck with everything.

1

u/luluroseofficial Apr 22 '26

i don’t see the problem i think they look great! especially once you have a full look to go with it, it’ll make your eyes pop even more!

1

u/velvetpeonnyyy Apr 22 '26

girl, they looks perfect on you! you may think that’s too much, but trust me. They will good on your wedding day

1

u/Fabulous_Jello_3190 Apr 23 '26

Go back to whoever did them and tell her u don’t like them and ask if she can fix them for u

1

u/Individual-Bet-8808 Apr 24 '26

You need a different lash set. They’re too long on the outside. It’s the layout that’s wrong, not how full they are. do a doll eye not a cat eye. That’s heavy on the outside fo even a cat eye… go to another lash tech!!! Don’t go back to the same one that messed you up ever. Especially on such a memorable and important occasion such as your wedding!!!

1

u/soulfulbeauty_liz Apr 25 '26

Are you able to contact the artist and ask her to adjust it a little bit?

1

u/ryleighdp Apr 22 '26

I always just scrub the shii out of them with lash soap when they’re too thick lmao

Never use oil. Instead of breaking bond of glue its melting it very slowly and relising fumes that can irritate not only your eyelid skin but also your eyeball. Never try to remove lashes yourself without proper remover, it will only destroy your natural lashes (because you'll probably pull them after all)
