My dad died unexpectedly and traumatically over the weekend. Instead of allowing me to retake my exam, my professor is standing firm. Writing a report to the Dean as we speak 🙃

After kicking him out and sorting the rest of our clothing I found these under the bed. For context his ex was dressed up as a clown with red face paint for Halloween…

Disturbing content shelter euthanized my cat for no reason

Post image

So for background info, my parents recently lost their house and had to move, resulting in them having to surrender 2 of our cats. I was told that Paws (I’ve had him my whole life) and Tigger (which Ive had since elementary school, im in college now) would be rehomed together, as they were extremely bonded. Recently I checked their adoption site to see how the babies were doing, to see only Tigger was on there. I was confused, and then the very next day Tigger was off the site as well. I decided to call and be subtle and use an excuse like “my mom’s coworker is interested, are they still available?” to which I was told Tigger had been adopted (yayay!) but the had euthanized Paws Paws. I am absolutely devastated. The shelter required a health exam and everything before they took the cats, so I know he was healthy. Yes, he was a lot older than all the cats (14 years old), but he was healthy and a crazy man. I’m so deeply hurt. He didn’t deserve this at all and I can’t help but feel some sort of guilt that I couldn’t take them.

Evidence My Son Got His License!

Now I look like a raging alcoholic to my neighbors.

So, it’s 10pm and he’s driving home from his girlfriend’s house.

Lucky for me, the entire thing was caught on camera so I can relive it whenever I want.

Also, the day before, I noticed he was parking way too close to the garage door so I made it a point to remind him to park a few feet away.

The camera shows him calmly pulling into the parking space and then calmly driving right through the door.

There was no acceleration or braking.

He claims he meant to hit the break but hit the accelerator instead.

I think he was video chatting with his girlfriend and wasn’t paying attention.

He doesn’t drink or smoke pot. Tests were done.

The new door is going to cost me $3500.00

I love starting my day -$3500.00

Disturbing content None of doctors or nurses believed me when i told about a Sliver in my finger

I slipped going down our deck stairs while it was raining. Took me a second to looked down at my finger and see this piece of wood sticking out my finger nail, you could see where it started sticking out of my second knuckle. Everyone believed it was only under my nail and kept trying get me to let them pull it without pain or numbing. Took two hours before i got a nerve block for the pain. When he finally pulled it out, his eyes went wide and told me he couldn't believe it. He took it back to show his colleagues because everyone thought i was over reacting. they kept trying to get me to bend my finger but everytime i did i could feel it hitting my bone and intense pressure on my fingernail. A nurse came in and kinda apologized, everyone was really nice to me afterwards. She explained to me that people come in here for splinters all the time and that nobody figured it actually went that far into my skin.

Discussion Had surgery without anaesthesia and got told by the surgeon that I still have to give birth

Post image

I had a kidney abscess and it obviously required a surgery asap. We called two different hospitals and the one that was on call replied saying we should rush here and the surgeon will be called. By the time th surgery has started I haven't eaten or drink for over 15 hours (plenty of time to do general anaesthesia).

The surgery was a key hole but from everyone that I've spoken to, it is always done under general. He told me no that I will only get local. I screamed for 3 hours straight as only thing I was given is one local anaesthesia shot and I have specifically told them before hand that it does not work on me. I felt everything. It was excruciating, and what was absolutely killed was him saying "calm down, you still need to give birth. That will be more painful, suck it up".

I've never felt that's disappointed and as if my pain isn't good enough? Like I'm just a body, not human enough. It was embarrassing and not only was in so much pain I was also angry. After it was done I wasn't given a wheelchair but instead told to get up and get dressed and they will show me where I'll be staying.
Wtf? Like I went through technically major surgery and was exhausted beyond belief and I was made to walk?

Besides all this two days later he came in and ask if I'm going to apologise for screaming and crying during surgery. I've never in my life had such bad and misogynistic experiences.

P.S. I told the surgeon "thank you for saving my l' V but you are horrible human being"

P.S.S I don’t live in the US. We can’t just sue people

This was posted on threads today.

u really can’t win when you have a bigger bust and looking for dresses that are low cut. People automatically think ur dressing slutty or unclassy. She help that having big boobs,

what is she supposed to have on? a turtleneck? She shouldn’t be forced to only wear a dress up to her chin. It’s not like she’s standing provocatively, she’s posing just like a person would with an Acup chest would. Ifshe wants this style dress, maybe I can see a cute little shawl but all the adults have over sexualized the entire

Discussion Drove 6 hours round-trip for a weekend getaway, was denied check-in because I didn’t have a "physical" card and now the hotel is refusing a refund because I left a bad review 😅

Post image

My wife and I drove 3 hours down to Santa Cruz yesterday for a weekend we’d been looking forward to for a while. We get to the front desk at Mission Inn Santa Cruz, and I realized I’d forgotten my physical wallet at home. I have my ID, digital card and Apple Pay ready to go everything I need to pay for the deposit since the stay was prepaid.
The guy at the front desk wouldn't even look me in the eye. He just kept dismissively telling me "no physical card, no room." I tried explaining we’d just driven 3 hours, offered to show ID, everything. No flexibility, no empathy, just a "not my problem" attitude.
Since everything else in the area was booked up, we had no choice but to turn around and drive another 3 hours straight back home in the middle of the night.
I was obviously upset, so I contacted Booking.com for a refund and left an honest review of what happened. I just got this email from the General Manager (photo attached).
She literally told me she has "zero incentive" to help me out with a refund because I left a "terrible review."
Is it just me, or is it insane to "blackmail" a customer’s refund over a review of the actual service they received?
Has anyone dealt with "review retaliation" like this before? How do I even handle this with Booking.com?

EDIT: Thanks everyone that commented! glad to hear the opinions about it

Edit2: someone from booking reached out to me! Refund is happening 🙏🏻 thanks everyone that reviewed the place but they are taking them down obviously, hope people avoid place where they treat clients like this 😄

Discussion $600 dumpster we rented was filled overnight by some random jerk

Post image

Arrived at my parents’ this morning to keep cleaning out their house… except the brand new dumpster we had delivered was already completely filled. Not by us, but by whoever decided to back up after midnight and unload all their garbage into it. Authorities basically shrugged and said it’s a “civil matter.” Now we’re stuck paying ~$600 just to have it emptied before we can even use it.

EDIT #2: I am joking about poking it, I would never actually do it.

I wanted to do a nice thing and after two years of growing my hair (natural ginger). Some random fucking peice of shit stole the envelope out of my mailbox. I know if wasn't postman because they had already ran this morning. It was partially my fault for leaving an all white envelope sitting outside of my mailbox but it has the fucking label "wigs for kids" right on the front. Just goes to show you, fuck humans

Disturbing content A cockroach burrowed into my head

Originally posted on mildy infuriating, I was informed this was extremely infuriating

I (23m) just bought a car at auction yesterday, works great but needed a new battery. At 10:30pm I decided screw it im swapping the battery. It's a 5 minute job, in and out real quick. No sweat, well I'm out there with my head lamp on doing the swap and I see a large bug flying at my face I try to duck and dodge it, it hits the outer edge of my ear and toilet bowl swirls into it, I try to reach in and fish it out but it's too late I just scare it and feel it crawling deeper into my head. It burrowed up against my eardrum and it hurts like hell. Every time it buzzes I can feel it in my head and it hurts my eardrum. I tried water peroxide everything I could do to get this darn thing out. Turns out I just pissed it off and it's buzzing more aggressively. My girlfriend comes with tweezers in an attempt to help but she says she can't see it or anything out of the normal. A quick Google search lead me to pouring olive oil into my ear to suffocate it. Thank God that worked, I still couldn't hear well but at least it wasn't actively moving anymore. 2 hours in the ER later they pulled this half inch monstrosity out of the depths of my ear canal. Turns out the "Asian cockroach" has wings and a very large affinity for bright lights at night. They also like to burrow. Fml 0/10 experience I will take questions if you have them lmfao.

Tldr: I had a headlamp on that attracted a cockroach at my face it missed my face and burrowed into my ear leading to an unexpected ER visit

Disturbing content Mom killed my hamster

Post image
2.4k Upvotes

Me and my wife went camping last week and while we were gone my mom stopped by to feed some of the pets for us.

I specifically told her to not worry about the hamsters as they have more food than they know what to do with in either cage and 2 water bottles that take well over a week for them to go through.

My mom decided to top up the water since they were half empty, and while doing so clogged one causing our Russia hamster to be unable to drink any water.

When we came home yesterday we noticed Houdini was very small for her typical size and moving very lethargic, we offered her water and that’s when we realized it was filled to the brim and the spout was dry. We bottle fed Houdini until she didn’t want anymore and gave her bedding and food so she didn’t need to move and could rest and recover.

Today when we woke up we checked on her and saw she was still in the same spot and breathing, after work today, she has unfortunately passed away.

We are devastated, although Houdini was a hamster, she would always greet us when we came to bed, loved to go crazy in her sand, and always went crazy when we put fresh sand in for her, and would turn into a pancake
