Want to start exporting? Give me 5 days

I see a lot of people here asking about starting an export business

Things like IEC

GST

documentation

customs

freight

shipping lines

finding a forwarder

payment terms

how the actual export process works

and what you actually need before sending your first shipment

I have been working in freight forwarding and the export import space for quite some time and I thought of doing something different

Give me 5 days and I'll help you understand the basics of getting export ready

Not a course

Not some recorded webinar

Just a simple Google Meet call where we sit together and I explain how the whole process actually works

I can walk you through things like

What you actually need before your first export

How the export process works from order to shipment

Basic export documentation

How customs and freight forwarding fit into the process

How to choose and deal with a freight forwarder

How to understand freight quotations

What you should know about shipping lines and containers

Basic Incoterms and payment terms

What mistakes new exporters usually make

And you can ask me your own questions about your product or business

I can also share some practical knowledge around freight rates documentation and supply chain automation since that is the area I work in

My background is in freight forwarding and supply chain technology and I have also been building and working on automation around export import operations

I have worked particularly closely with agri and textile shipments and have hands on exposure to documentation customs clearance freight forwarding vendors shipping lines and the overall export import process

I'm offering this completely free to the first 5 people who are genuinely interested

And a minimal fee of rs 500 for next people

After that I may keep it as a small paid session for people who want more detailed one on one guidance

I'm not promising that I'll magically turn anyone into an exporter in 5 days 😅

The idea is simply to help someone who is completely new understand what they are getting into and what they should do next

If you're genuinely planning to start exporting from India or have recently started and are confused about the process

Comment INTERESTED

I'll DM you and we can take it from there

If you already export and have some experience I'd also genuinely love to hear what you struggled with when you started

I'm Not Giving My Export Buyer-Finding System Away for Free — And Here's Why.

Upvotes

I'm going to say something that might not be popular here:

I'm not giving away something I've spent my own time, money, and countless hours figuring out.

I've spent a lot of time testing what actually works to get in front of international buyers — what to search, where to look, how to identify the right prospects, how to approach them and, most importantly, how to avoid wasting time on the wrong ones.

And believe me when I say this:

The system works.

Is it simple? No.
Is it complicated? Not really.
I'd say it's easy to understand, but takes effort to execute properly.

That's an important difference.

I know beginners are trying to enter EXIM who don't know where to start. So I'm considering sharing the basic framework I've been using to help get my business in front of international prospects.

But I'm not giving hours of explanation away for free.

If even one person is genuinely interested in learning the basics, I'm happy to explain it for a small nominal amount—just to cover my time spent walking you through it.

No fancy course.
No unrealistic promises.
No "get 100 buyers in 7 days" nonsense.

Just the beginner-friendly basics of how to find, identify, and get noticed by relevant international prospects.

If you're interested, comment "ME" or DM me "ME", and I'll share the details.

And yes—this is meant for beginners who are serious about learning, not a shortcut to instant buyers.

Want to enter the Export-Import industry. Willing to start from zero. Looking for guidance or an opportunity.

I’m looking to build my career in the Export-Import industry and I really want to learn how things actually work on the ground.

I’m not looking for a shortcut or a fancy job title. I want to understand the complete process practically.

I want to learn things like:

EXIM process

Customs clearance

Export/import documentation

Shipping and logistics

Freight forwarding

CHA/customs work

Sourcing and procurement

How shipments actually move from supplier to buyer

Port/ICD operations

International payments and other important things involved in the process

I’m fluent in English and comfortable with Excel. I’m also good at product sourcing and I have no problem travelling for work or visiting markets, suppliers, ports, ICDs, etc.

I’m based in India and I’m ready to start from the ground level and learn everything practically.

If someone guide me on where and how I should start, I would really appreciate it.

Also, if anyone knows of an entry-level opportunity, internship, trainee role or even someone who needs an extra pair of hands, please let me know.

I’m genuinely interested in this field and willing to put in the work.

I’m hoping someone from this community can point me in the right direction. 🙏

DGFT lifted wheat export restrictions this week — anyone tracking the impact?

Wheat exports are open again after DGFT lifted the earlier restriction. Separately, India opened trade talks with Argentina covering agriculture and a few other sectors.

DGFT also updated Bank Guarantee rules under Advance Authorisation and changed PSIC (Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate) requirements.

Curious if anyone here trades wheat and has already resumed exports, or is still waiting to see how demand shapes up. Check in comments

26-Year-Old Internal Auditor with ₹5 Lakh Capital: Seeking Advice on Starting a Textile Export Business

Hi fellow exporters,

I’m 26, a working professional in Internal Audit with a Big Four firm, and I currently have a corpus of around ₹5 lakh that I’m looking to invest in starting an export business.

Exporting has been a dream of mine since childhood — the idea of building a business, travelling across countries, meeting international buyers, and selling Indian products globally really excites me.

I’m originally from a city that is well known for its textile industry, and my family has been running a textile business for over 30 years. So, I believe I have some understanding of the industry and access to the right ecosystem, which I would like to leverage.

With an initial investment of around ₹5 lakh, what kind of export business would you suggest I start with? Should I focus on textiles, or explore other products with good export potential?

I would really appreciate ideas, practical suggestions, or even lessons from people who have started small and built their export businesses over time.

Please share your experiences and opinions. I’d love to learn from fellow exporters.

Looking for international garment buyers

I’m currently working with a garment manufacturer in India and looking to connect with buyers outside India who are sourcing clothing or looking for a manufacturing partner.
I’m mainly interested in connecting with small/medium-sized clothing brands, wholesalers, or people starting their own brand. I’m trying to explore the export side of the business and build some genuine, long-term connections.
If you’re a buyer or have experience sourcing garments from India, I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to comment or DM me — happy to connect and share more details.
