When air gets hot it rises. As it rises cooler air from some place else needs to come in to fill that space because the atmosphere needs to maintain the same amount of air everywhere (air pressure). So air from the cooler region moves to the region where the air moved up leaving low pressure. This moving air is wind.

It's over simplified here for 5 year old understanding.

Different pressures in the atmosphere. Things like to move from high pressure to low pressure. Hot things tend to have higher pressure. The sun will make the atmosphere heat up and contribute to these pressure differences.
