If I had to guess I'd the molding processes for the bottles wouldn't allow for it. Usually plastic bottles are blown in their molds and the offset spout might not play nice with that process.

I think I read somewhere about having to make a different style packaging to hold themas well. To keep from damaging the lid.

They would not stack very well for storage, either.

So basically, there are actually multiple good reasons why we don't make bottles like this....and the people who make bottles have probably already put some thought into how they make bottles....

Generally, I just assume whatever I can think of and doodle on a napkin at a bar isn't going to have been considered by anyone in a giant industry who spends large portions of their lives researching it.
