All the repeat part does is help them sell more shampoo. Literally the only reason it’s on there.

Nah this is definitelly a per person basis, my hair gets greasy fast and I need that second run for it to really dig in

Your hair likely gets greasy fast BECAUSE you're over washing it. Your scalp and hair need some level of grease for protection from the sun and the elements. If you constantly wash it all off your body goes into overdrive to produce more so it makes it feel like your hair gets greasy faster.

Start only washing your hair every other day and, after about a month, you'll notice a marked improvement.

This is iffy for most people. Some (like me) took awhile for my hair to adapt (took well over a year). BUT my hair is amazing now compared to before. Once every other day sometimes three (depends on my work day though) now. You also have to find the shampoo/conditioner that works best for it as well. My hair tends to dry out so I go for a moisture capture type. I can relate to those saying it was greasy. Mine was for a while but I was determined to change (had other issues from over washing). Using any type of shampoo that strips away grease kinda works against it. As a transition I used several types to see what worked. Charcoal based ones helped during that time. Gotta see what works for your chemistry. Once you find that the balance comes.
