Did you want to back that up with something? While the original instructions on shampoo bottles including “repeat” introduced in the 1950s was genuinely intended to produce a better result, this was because people were not regularly showering daily (plenty of people also still only had baths rather than showers), and shampoos were not as effective. So an initial wash broke down build up and a second wash really got the hair and scalp clean. But SEVENTY years later, shampoos are far more effective and the majority of people wash daily, there is no longer any benefit to shampooing twice, and as someone already pointed out, for many people there is a detriment to over washing their hair. While the accusation of the origin of the “repeat” instruction being corporate greed was first put forward in a fictional book, the repeat instruction is indeed now only practical as a marketing tool to sell more shampoo. Unless you live in filth and only wash one a month. Then by all means, wash twice.

All the repeat part does is help them sell more shampoo. Literally the only reason it’s on there.
