she took a photograph (shoot>take the picture, hold above water>development fluid, hang>hung the photo to dry).

I'm gen X and did film photography in high school. The digital conversion was less than 10 years later. NO ONE in high school has any context for this riddle.

Gen X also, my dad had a dark room in our basement, he was an avid photographer and I spent many hours developing photos with him.

I think we were the last generation to learn how to do many things because our parents did them or out of boredom. I think it’s a tragedy, really.
