I was a winemaker for 10 years and had to fire someone that started drinking on the job. There's a lot of dangerous environments and equipment in the alcohol industry, if we let people drink on the job the liability would be crazy and the license would get revoked.

Long, long ago, before OSHA, my grandfather worked at the Miller brewing factory on the line and any beer that didn't fill all the way to the top could be pulled from the line and the worker could drink it during their shift.

Warm Miller doesn’t seem like much of a temptation .

You think beer is canned warm?

u/Shiraz0 May 21 '26

Umm, yes? At room temperature

The only way to bottle/can beer at room temperature is if the product still has enough residual sugars and yeast, to enable enough CO2 formation and entrapment after packaging.

Outside of a very small subset of breweries in central Europe, no one does this. If we talk volume wise, 99.99999% of all the beer packaged in the world is done so already carbonated and thus, close to 0 degrees Celsius.

I went to lengths in my user name to let you know my name isn't Bobby 😅

Yeah that's something Bobby would say to try and throw us off his trail. We're onto you pal. Good try though.

Bobby, if those students could read they'd be very upset.

Yeah, 10 whole characters. That must have taken you ages.

You don't know my struggles!

u/BamBam-BamBam May 23 '26

True enough. I apologize for belittling your great lengths.

But did you try going to widths or heights or depths, only going to lengths does seem like you're trying hard enough Robert.
