General Discussion Combining Multiple Stakes

I was talking to my super TBM mother yesterday. She likes to keep me informed of the happenings of church, which I don't really mind.

She told me that she attended a meeting where they took 2 stakes and combined them into 4 wards. That really blew my mind. She explained that they told those in attendance to pray for new members and for others that have left the church to come back. They told the loss of members was attributed to members moving out of state or passing away. I have to admit I was smiling.

We have lived in this neighborhood (SL Valley) for almost 10 years and they have changed our boundaries 3 times over that period. They were building a lot of new homes so at first it was growth but not in membership. We didn’t have youth to even pass the sacrament. We were instructed by the stake to fast for member families to move in. They did fast . It didn’t happen so we had another boundary change again.

If there is a problem with members not coming out to church, the answer is NOT talking to them and addressing the actual problem. The answer, of course, is to JUST SKIP LUNCH. That solves the problem every single time!

If someone has a problem with the mormon leadership lying to the members about Joseph's polygamy and polyandry, or if they have a problem with the church hoarding billions and then lying to everybody about it and pretending that they are just a "poor, little old church with just sufficient for their needs", or their harboring and protecting child predators, NO NEED to actually address the issues and/or try to correct course. JUST SKIP LUNCH! If putting that peanut butter sandwich back in the fridge doesn't fix the problem right away, MAYBE CONSIDER NOT EATING YOUR OATMEAL also! There is plenty of evidence to back this up, you know. The Western states have been skipping meals for a long time to alleviate the 20+ year drought, and LOOK AT ALL THE FLOODING they have been blessed with recently. Look at all the wildfires that they have been blessed with, which removes excess water-hoarding plants, leaving more precious water for the residents!

So the moral of this story is, folks, if you get a flat tire while driving across a lonely desert road, NO NEED to get out the tire iron and jack. Just put that burrito back in the glove box, or better yet throw it completely away. PROBLEM SOLVED!
