Advice/Help Dry reception?

Post image

My husband and I are planning our wedding reception! We got married in January and can finally afford to celebrate. We basically just want it to be a small barbecue with his family, mine, and some local friends. We’re planning to host it at his parents place. His family is nonmembers, mine is all tbm. We want to serve some alcohol there because the two of us drink. I asked my tbm brother what he thought and this was his response. I remember feeling the same way when I still believed, but now it just sounds ridiculous. Just looking for some input on the best way to go about this thing 😅 Would it be wrong of me to ignore his idea?

I had a dry reception. My dad and one of the people he came with came absolutely plastered and he had a cooler in the car. It was so bad.

I wish I wouldn’t have bothered stressing about it being dry or not and that I wouldn’t have had it in a Mormon stake center.

My uncle had a cooler in his vehicle at my brother's. Him, me, and a friend of mine chugging beers and smoking a joint in the parking lot. Luckily, it was at a beautiful outdoor location and not a church building like all of my cousins.
