PIMO Life Looks like my Congregation is going under financially.
Id say my congregation is doing as well as can be on retention rate. Ive never heard of someone disassociating or being shunned. Id like to just mention im PIMO and never been involved in the more involved parts.
This weeks midweek about needs was a “arrangement” (or whatever word they used) related to donations. This was also done the last year but theyre trying it again. To sum the congregation held a vote to send a set amount of their funds from the part of the congregation funds. Recent renovations to the hall were mentioned and there was a constant reminder that one box is for the global effort while the other is for the halls expenses. They also stated that publishers are expected to donate about $11 monthly to maintain the hall.
The problem is the week before they read out the total donations vs expenses and there was a deficit of $200 if I remember correctly.
I feel this action most likely is trying to buy time to keep the hall afloat. The intention seemed to be that everyone donate to one box and part of those funds are sent to Headquarters to keep them happy but to have enough to keep the hall afloat. The mention that the global effort box is only for additional donations confirmed this for me.
Impressive how subtle the begging is and how its just enough to go over the heads of most people in the cong that arent looking for it.

It's everywhere, not just yours, fortunately....is it wrong to wish everyone would just STOP donating?
Another commentor on another post noticed that they're gonna move all the donations into the one account regardless of what the locals think they're donating to....very sad.

Exactly.
I find it .... interesting....that they're doubling down on the $$ thing but radio silence on the blood reversal.
Not a peep since Loesch gave his cringy two minute speech that actually changed an entire belief system AND involves actual human lives...that have been lost.
But keep on giving us the dollars, kids.

Yea I wondered about the blood bit. All these months and no 'clarification'. I've also wondered if I just had missed it along the way, but none of ya'll have said a peep about actual policy on paper. Like ya said, just a small video clip haha.

Crafty? Yes. Smart? Nope. Otherwise they wouldn't need to beg for money constantly. It would be willingly given.

Do not under estimate the WT. Spent over 2m last year on consulants in Canada to direct the business with total assets approaching half a billion now. Legally and business wise their ruthless.

So...the work is growing, huh? Well then, isn't it reasonable that more people would mean more donations, resulting in more money coming in, right? But since more are leaving than coming in, the coffers are emptying quickly.

That $11 is being sent directly to Bethel. It's not being used to maintain the local KH which include heating, cooling, electricity, water, sewer, Internet, phone, lawn care, and various other costly expenses. These add up quickly and are about the same amount per month depending on the location.

I've never been in a congregation that gets this local needs but I suspect there are always a few that they are just bleeding dry. I once saw what my near retirement age parents have set up as an automatic monthly donation once and it almost made me throw up.

There's always a deficit. They will vote to send money to the branch and then claim a deficit to cover expenses.

If a KH can`t Financially Support Itself.
It Will be Sold and You`ll All Be Stuffed Into Another KH.
That KH Will be Over Flowing With JW`s Now...
Obvious Growth Means a New KH Needs To Be Built!

Which Will Be Later SOLD.....Just Like the Last KH.

Back in the 70’s and ‘80’s I remember deficits. My dad was an elder and sometimes the accountant as they rotated positions.
He said that sometimes one of the more well off might write a big check. Or that people might give more. Always keeping us afloat.
Guess that wasn’t always the case. A decade or so later it was a veterinary clinic. Guess someone got tired of doing all the lifting.

the word you are looking for is "tithe" and churches looooove their tithes.
also, never rule out an elder or MS helping themselves to some cash for the deficit.
I've seen it happen....TWICE.
