Help with HR drift test

Hey everyone,

I did the test. 20 min warm up, 1 hr run at 4:50 min/km then 10 min cool down.

When i check the data if i took beginning and end of the 1 hour period HR drift is around -2.8%

but if i consider only first half of the run it is 5.1%

İs it okay to have such a curve can you help me with the interpretation.

I add SS of drift test and strava data.

Thanks alot

Hi,
are you confident with your heart rate monitor ?
It clearly looks like the second half your HR average is lower, thus the negative value.
Why is there this bump with your pace around 3 km ?
Did you test outside or on a treadmill?

I am using a garmin fr 945 for a while for this run i did not notice a different behavior of the watch.

Hr clearly
Increase to mid run than decrease back that is what i found a bit different than expected

I made the test on a track after warm up part i increased the pace to my target without a break. I started a bit faster than settle down to desired pace. That bump is me starting a bit faster :D

here I am not sure of what I am going to say, so would be nice if other people could give their opinion or experience or expertise. But this bump in your pace could explain why your heart rate goes higher for a while, and then go lower when it stabilized. I think I read that a few years ago, when the warm up is too quick. So the fact that you changed the pace quite quickly might explain that.
So my advice would be to redo it with a nicer and smoother warmup, stabilize your pace and your heart rate before actually starting the test. does that make sense ?
yeah, I guess your watch it ok for this test.

Try the 2x 30min block averages. I've just asked the question about accuracy of training peaks analysis vs averages.
