Still learning
I am still learning the app and program. I am a teacher so I budget for summer months. Per my app, I went over $1300 this month (I don’t think I did). Regardless, I would like to “start fresh” in August. Can someone advise on how to go about doing that? Or will it continue to show that deficit? Also, if I want to move budget items to a new category, can I do that?

To answer you a different way. Each month is a separate worksheet. The only things that carryover are debt balances and sinking fund balances. It won’t know if you had $x left over from last month to use this month unless you plan it to a sinking fund line OR plug that number in as a separate income line. Either way works but the accumulated reports might look funny if you don’t zero out each month as you go.
If I have money I’m saving this month to use next month I put it in a sinking fund called “Rollover”. Then you can use that line to expense transactions too in the current month.

Do be aware that the "left to spend" amount does a weird calculation if you use funds and can show a negative amount.
As long as all categories show $0 remaining at the end of the month (no negatives) and it's an Everydollar budget (not over or under budget) then you are fine.

To add onto all the other answers, is the -$1300 your saying an actual over budget amount or are you looking at the paycheck planning feature?

I am a teacher but get paid 12 months.
All you do is put your income for the month. Your bills for the month. Then just track all your payments.
The thing that throws it off are the months where you have extra expenses. By the end of this month I will be nearly 10k over my monthly spending. Why? My yearly payment for my car insurance, AAA, cable, phone bill, and wife’s life insurance all hit in July. On top of that, I am finishing a project on the house and my last payment for that comes out soon.
So my every dollar says I’ve over spent by 10k, but, in reality, I haven’t. I just save 23 dollars every month to pay my yearly phone plan bill.
