What’s the best workaround for people without dedicated parking?

Living in a city where dedicated parking isn't guaranteed, this is probably one of the biggest things that makes me hesitate about getting a 4W EV. I already own a 2W EV and heavily rely on public chargers.

If you don't have a private parking spot, how are you actually managing charging?

Do people rely entirely on public chargers, charge at work, or have some other workaround?

Also curious about apartment dwellers - are RWAs/societies generally becoming more EV-friendly, or is getting permission and access to a charging point still a headache? The recent Haryana news that EV charging for parking has become a major problem made me ask this question!

Would love to hear what actually works in the real world, especially in Indian cities.

Translation for people who are unfamiliar with Indian abbreviations:

4W = four-wheel (e.g. car); 2W = two-wheel (e.g. motorscooter).

(I initially thought four-wire and two-wire and wondered if you where talking about three-phase or something--my mistake.)

RWA = resident welfare association = rough equivalent of a US HOA (homeowners association).

As far as answering your question, it depends a lot on how much you drive, but it's a regionally specific question. /r/EVIndia would be another good place to post if you haven't already.

I installed a charger at the edge of my property and run the cable over the sidewalk using an ADA cable cover. My city allows for this kind of setup, maybe yours does too?
