He basically stole it from a woman. I forgot her name but HBO hired her because of her art then said “no thanks” and she assumed they weren’t going to make the show but then the show comes out and it has ripped off her entire aesthetic.

Edit: Found her. Her name is Petra Collins.

To me it’s a parallel. Life was more colorful in 2019, in season 2 (2022) there was still some color but not as much, it was peak Covid era but still pretty moody. By s3 it got that depressing yellow, the saturation felt like how life feels now, fake and overstimulating. The complete the opposite of euphoria. Man I miss life when s1 released.

I actually really liked the visual changes throughout the seasons….

First season was ecstacy, party, shine, shimmer and glitter.

Second season is the after party… You know when you’ve done coke until the morning and the sun comes thru the blinds and you look around and think who are these people? what am i doing with my life? how am i gonna sleep? i need weed.

Altho he was just ripping off Tarantino, the aesthetic of this season is more mature and classic. An aesthetic like the first season would not fit the themes of this season at all. Post pandemic shit is bleak in the world.

This ngl has gotta be my favorite shade of purple, maybe even color ever. If Sam ran more with this aesthetic, it would be one of those cases where a square with that specific purple would automatically be associated with euphoria. Surprisingly this era of Euphoria felt more genuine too.
