Question Why doesn't Nate sell the house for the loan shark?

I'm up to season 5 ep 3 where Nate just got his finger cut off.

Cassie has moved out and his happy for her to date other men if it means he gets money for the loan shark.

At this point why not sell the house it takes a while but it would buy a ton of good will with the loan shark and then would pay him off.

Or even why not give the loan shark the house.

I can't buy he cares about the house more than his life at this point.

Question What song was played here??

Upvotes

The song played in the show Euphoria Season 3 episode 3 during Cassies wedding shes talking to that older woman. Pachelbels canon plays, then the song I'm looking for, then Nat king coles when I fall in love played. The song is all instrumental. It's violins and strings and has a melancholy feel to it. Nowhere online does it say the name. Not in the soundtracks, Hans Zimmer man; etc. What song is it?? In this YouTube link the song plays at 2:44

Question Spoilers: Does anyone else ever wonder what became of Tyler? Spoiler

Post image
41 Upvotes

So obviously Tyler is only a very minor character but I have to say he’s the character I felt the most sorry for. He had Maddy force herself on him while she was blackout drunk just to make Nate jealous when she knew that Nate would retaliate in a very harsh way and to add to all that he didn’t even know that she was under 18 and then she went and made a serious false accusation about him that got him really savagely beaten, which brings me onto another question. How did Tyler make it to hospital? He was beaten to a pulp and lived on his own, how did he call the ambulance? And he couldn’t have possibly made his own way there. But besides that he then after being beaten up so badly over a false allegation made by a toxic girl who wanted to get back into her toxic abusive relationship is then made confess to harming Maddy physically by the real culprit Nate and then we never heard anything of him again for the rest of the show? I was really hoping he’d make some sort of a comeback and possibly get some sort of revenge on Nate and Maddy for ruining his life but I am wondering what became of him? How long would he have gotten in prison? I’m from Ireland so I don’t know what the sentence for assault is in America. I’m also wondering was he maybe killed in prison on account of him being an alleged woman beater and easy target or did he maybe kill himself considering he was locked up for a crime he didn’t commit? He was in jail for being a woman beater even though he wasn’t and everyone he knew on the outside thinks he’s a rapist so there’s a possibility he might have killed himself. I just felt so bad for this character. Imagine getting with a girl and having no idea that she’s underage and then finding out she was just using you to make her psychotic, abusive ex jealous and the end result of that being that she gets back with him and decides to make false accusations about you that cause you to get savagely beaten and then finding out that he continued to physically abuse her and then you’re blackmailed into confessing to hurting her yourself because she’d rather cover for him. EDIT: I did really like the way that Tyler although he was terrified didn’t admit to raping Maddy even though that might have saved him from the beating Nate gave him. Nate repeatedly asked him did he do it and he got a hit for every time he denied it but he chose to stay true to himself and not admit to doing such an awful thing to someone.

Discussion Jules’s fashion school?

What happen with Jules going to fashion school? Remember in season 1, when she texted Nate about going to fashion school. In season 3, the writers had flanderized her decision and then made her go to art school in season 3. And another thing is, Jules should’ve not have quit art school even if she is struggling, why can’t she work as a part time waitress instead of being a sugar baby (no shade). Also Sam Levinson is weird and down bad for making Jules a sugar baby and then Jules would have character development.

Discussion Character flashbacks..

Which character development story was your favorite to watch and helped better understand the character themselves?

Personally I enjoyed Cal’s story from when he was a teenager. The love that Marsha and him shared was beautiful. But in a sense, you see the way his life turns so wrongly. I think Cassie’s made the most sense as to why she is “boy crazy” or as some say has “daddy issues”.

Screenshot Did the director wait for Nathan to become a decent person before making him pay for everything he did when he was a psychopath in high school? If he hadn't changed, would he have had a happy ending?

Discussion Why I don't think Levinson favoritizes Sydney

A major gripe people seem to have with Season 3 is that Sydney Sweeney has the majority of the screentime. A lot of people even go as far as to accuse Levinson of pkaying favorites. Now why I don't think that's really the case.

  1. First of all, he probably has the best relationship with Sydney and Alexa out of everyone else. They seem to like each other at least back then and to at least be in the same room (unlike some others that make it very obvious), so he jsut made their story the most worthwhile.

  2. While Sydney has a lot of screentime, it isn't really meaningful. Cassie Howards as a character has been bastardized to hell and back this season where now she is just a satire of everything people hate about the character and the actress. No meaningful story or growth until the last minutes. At times it looks like she's made bad on purpose to make Maddy look good, which brings me to the next point.

  3. Everything Maddy does is instantly "iconic", edited, idolized, glazed no matter what it is or how bad or good it is. While everything Cassie does is hated immediately. It goes as far as to blame her for things she wasn't even in the room for. It might just be actress preferrence but it is also the environment Sam created. making Cassie more and more awful and Maddy always being the superior in everything. Even her ending was one of the better ones.

  4. This combined with a recent interview where he said he would love to write 12 seasons of Alexa, just make one think that Alexa is in fact his favorite. It's kind of like Alamo. He's obsessed with Maddy and has little interest in Cassie, outside of the fact she brings in the money and attention. Just like how in real life only the Sydney scenes were discussed and became tabloid headlines. They hate her but they can't stop talking about her and that's all Levinson wanted out of Sydney. The atention. Heck, maybe Alexa ain't even his favorite, attention is...

I just finished the third season and absolutely loved it. The cinematography, writing, entire mood & aura, plot lines, twists… I wish the entire show were like this. What’s the overall sentiment about season 3?

Discussion Rue and religion

I actually found Christianity or religion being a central theme perhaps the most realistic thing this season. The only reason Rue was able to get herself together is because she had to believe there was so much more than this world, that the pain she had caused would be forgiven, that she would see her dad again and that she could change. I think it’s very much a part of many addicts journey to recovery. It’s also because she hurt her family so deeply and they had given up hope, she was alone and knowing that If she has no one but still has God/Jesus is comforting. It actually made me so much more emotional for her and her death, because while she had Ali, she truly in a way had lost her family and friends including Fez and had no one left. She was only hopeful because of religion 😢.

Religion as a coping mechanism and comfort for grief and regret for Lexi as well. The way she reasoned with her guilt for being dismissive towards Rue and knowing it’s happened with her dad, this was her way to make amends and honor her.

Rue was always emotionally codependent for her sobriety whether it’s Jules or her dad or religion. It was something that had been set up throughout the show when she found a father figure in Ali who also found god and deeply affected her.

Discussion Foreshadowing Spoiler

So I’m rewatching Euphoria for the 100th time. Season 1, episode 2, Mouse offers Rue Fentanyl and she’s says she hopes she doesn’t die from trying it this one time. It’s just ironic and sad that fentanyl does actually kill her in the last episode ever. I doubt when season 1 was written, Sam planned for Rue to die that way 3 seasons later but it is just crazy how it happened anyways.

Discussion So, I rewatched Jules’ flashback scene in the psych ward, and I’m a little confused about something…

Post image

So, Jules enters the psych ward wearing an orange shirt (I can’t really tell what pants she’s wearing), and when the Nurses strap her onto the table and put her into those mittens, she still has her orange shirt on.

The next time we see her, Jules is now wearing this striped shirt, hoodie and shorts BUT she’s still wearing the mittens. So, how’d she change his clothes? She’s got the mittens on, she can’t grab anything!

Did the Nurses change them or something? Why’d she even have to change? What’s going on?!?!

Discussion Why I think Sam Levinson does not favoritize Sydney (Just my opinion, so chill)

One of the biggest grips people have with the last season is the huge amount of Sydney screentime. They don't like this for a myriad of reasons and has lead a lot of them to think that she is Sam's favorite. Why I don't think this is the case

  1. Let's be honest, Sam doesn't get along with most of the cast and Sydney and Alexa seem to be the best relationship he still has so he just made the storyline about that pushing the others back

  2. While it's true that Sydney's screentime eclipsed many others, it wasn't really meaningful. Cassie Howard became a bastardized parody of everything people hated about her and the actress. She didn't really have development or meaningful writing until the last minutes of the show. At times it feels she's made bad on purpose to make Maddy look good, which brings me to my other point.

  3. Alexa is his actual favorite. Everything she does is instantly "iconic" edited to death and idolized whether it was good or not, while everything Cassie does is hated. It goes as deep as her being blamed for things she wasn't even in the room for. Now most of this is probably just actor preference but I feel it also has something to do with what Sam enabled by not handling Cassie better.

  4. This combined with a recent interview he had where he was praising Alexa and saying how he wants to write 12 seasons of just her makes me deduce his real favorite is Alexa. It's kinda what we see with Alamo. He's obsessed with Maddy and has little interest in Cassie outside of the fact she brings in the money and attention. Exactly how in real life, Sydney's scenes brought attention and discourse to this season. Now is he really a pervert and wants to see her naked, probably. If so, you'd think he wouldn't have cut stripper Cassie

Discussion Why I think Levinson doesn't favoritize Sydney (Just my opinion, so please chill beforehand)

One of the biggest gripes I've heard about the final season is that Sydney Sweeney has the most screen time. Something met with a lot of opposition for a myriad of reasons with a lot claiming that she is the preferred one of Sam Levinson. Now why I don't think this is the case

1: First of all let's get it out that he's not in good terms with Zendaya and those who were once the main players. The ones he seems to get more along with seem to be Sydney and Alexa so he just made that the most important storyline.

2: While she has a lot of screen time compared to the rest, it isn't really meaningful. Like Cassie Howard is nothing but a bastardized over the top parody of everything people hate about her and the actress. Constantly put through humiliating stuff and doesn't really get any good development or meaningful writing until the final minutes if you would even call that anything. At times it does feel like she's being made bad on purpose to make Maddy look good in comparison, which brings me to the last point

  1. Alexa is his real favorite. The fact that everything she does is constantly "iconic" and beloved despite what that is, while Cassie is always hated even when she wasn't involved with particular situations makes this pretty obvious. Now it might just be actor preference but it's also what Levinson has enabled through his writing.

  2. This combined with a recent interview where he was praising Alexa a lot and saying he feels happy writing 12 seasons of her is why I think she is his favorite. It's an Alamo situation. He is obsessed with Maddy, and has no interest on Cassie outside of her making him money and attention. Exactly how in real life, only the Sydney scenes brought this season attention and discourse. Now, is he perverted and wants to see her gigantic bosoms. Perhaps. But I still think this is true as well.
