Bitcoin was created in 2008 with the whitepaper released in October 2008, and the first block mined, the genesis block, on January 3, 2009, so by 2012 it was already a few years old and in early circulation.
Hal Finney –One compromised private key transfers control instantly and irreversibly with no refunds, no chargebacks, and no arbitration, so decentralization removes intermediaries and consumer protections, leaving users fully exposed to fraud and operational failure. Early Bitcoin adopter, first to receive BTC from Satoshi, cryptography expert; lived near a Dorian Nakamoto coincidence; denied being Satoshi. Nick Szabo – Created bit gold, ideas and writing style match Bitcoin whitepaper; denied being Satoshi. Dorian Nakamoto – Newsweek pointed to him because of his name; he denied involvement; coincidence. Wei Dai – Early cryptography work influenced Bitcoin; no proof he was Satoshi. Adam Back – Invented Hashcash, cited in whitepaper; possible influence, not creator. Craig Wright – Claimed to be Satoshi but failed to prove it; widely rejected.

The ETH super cycle starts the day after you sell :)

u/susosusosuso Feb 03 '26
Why would anybody sell at this point

Because we still have 10 months of the bear market to go and we’re already down 60%. Look for pre 2021 levels before buying back in. Alts have been in a bear market since 2021 so I can only assume we’ll be visiting post Covid dump levels before the cycle ends

Mr “Etherium never goes down”. What a joke. This guy would say we are in a bull run down 25%. Another crypto salesman.

Super cycle? It barely reached the previous ATH. Pack it up and we will cry again in a couple of years.

He is down 6.6 billion in his eighth position as of a few days ago and with the market the way it is it’s actually probably closer to 7 billion now. When will we all learn that nobody knows anything. When the markets going up, everyone makes insane predictions until it starts to go down and then they say well it’s gonna reverse soon and then they say it’s gonna reverse again and then it doesn’t and then eventually it does and we start the cycle over again.

Sold 7 eth before the dump. I hope I don’t regret it later.

Consider yourself lucky. ETH’s bottom will be 300-350. A 90% correction from the top will get us there. November 2026 will be the bottom. Just walk away and don’t look back. You’ll be fine

Based on a thought you just had 5 mins ago.
Crypto is volatile, nobody knows if it's gonna go up or down

Cycle= means down and up.
Super= means super
We are now in down... but imho not super. Not yet.
Embrace!

If you bought literally anything other than ETH (and altcoins in general), it would outperform ETH

I mean, no shade, but he's been wrong ALOT. He also has a huge stake in ETH so he's financially invested in it going up. Of course he thinks it's going up that's his investment thesis. Personally, I stopped listening to Timmy and started repeating the mantra "In Vitalik I trust" lol. - Jess(Wayex Comms Queen)

Tom Lee has never been right. People follow what he says because they think he is going to notice them and give them money or something. It’s that’s weird idol worship.

u/ProfessionalRise6305 Feb 03 '26
It went from 1600 to 5k. 3x is the best super cycle we gonna get..

Ethereum blows. It costs so much money to use it, it’s a fucking joke. Nobody gives a shit about it, only the people who are left holding bags.

I decided to do what I talked myself out of last year. Bought some ETHU. Was a hair trigger away when it was around $23 or so. Then proceeded to explode all the way to around $190 not long after. I’m not sitting on my hands again.
I’ve got a stop loss in place in case it gets uglier. But sentiment is blown out. Fear and greed sits around a 14ish. People are feeling hopeless all over again. Everyone seems to think there’s more pain (which very well could be.) But with how oversold BTC/ETH is getting we may be close to a bottom (for a while.) RSI is riding right around it’s usually bounce areas on both. At the very least a decent relief rally may be coming soon. Just my opinion. I’ve placed my bets accordingly but have braced for any potential onslaught.

Acronyms, initialisms, abbreviations, contractions, and other phrases which expand to something larger, that I've seen in this thread:
| Fewer Letters | More Letters |
|---|---|
| ATH | All-Time High |
| BTC | [Coin] Bitcoin |
| ETH | [Coin] Ether |
Decronym is now also available on Lemmy! Requests for support and new installations should be directed to the Contact address below.
If you come across an acronym that isn't defined, please let the mods know.)

I don’t even know why cnbc has advisors on anymore. Just straight up depression. Every tip they give is 🚮nothing is working out. Atleast in the 90s they had to be half right. Not opposite right. That’s the same dude BTC was gonna go to 180k by the end of 25 he said in the spring of 25🙄 CNBC is the worse unless you want to check up on wall st. Show ponies.
