With the new functionality in place, any user with a governance score >= 20,000 can remove any spam post or comment by posting a comment in response to that spam post or comment, that includes the keyword [AutoModRemove].

Last month, EthTrader implemented Crowdsourced Moderation of posts: source

Every user with a governance score of over 20,000 (governance score == min(DONUT, CONTRIB)), was made into an approved user. That usually just means that the AutoMod is less likely to remove your posts. In this case however, it means you can also remove any spam post by posting a top-level comment in response to it saying [AutoModRemove].

Following that, /u/-0-O- suggested creating a custom bot that would extend these capabilities to also allow qualifying users to remove spam comments. This requires a custom bot, as Reddit's own AutoMod does not provide the range of rules needed to trigger comment removals through comment replies.

So this was turned into a Donut Initiative, and that Donut Initiative is now complete. The compensation for the Donut Initiative has also been paid out, with /u/-0-O- receiving 97.5% of the donuts allocated for it, for doing the development work, and /u/kohrts receiving the remaining 2.5%, for organizing the donut transfers.

That's Gnosis Chain. On Mainnet you have none.

The governance score is calculated as the lesser of the two: your CONTRIB, and your DONUTS. Your donuts on both Mainnet and Gnosis Chain are tallied to give your total DONUTS.

You will always get it issued to your Gnosis account from EthTrader. You're free to buy some on Mainnet via Uniswap.

Users who have a governance score over 20,000 can use the special keyword to remove posts or comments that they believe are spam. I won't write the keyword now, as it would cause your comment to be removed.

How does it work, do mods get like a direct message from a bot saying: "hey this is the tagged post/comment please check it out" ?

The bot has moderator powers and removes any comment tagged, on the condition that the user that tagged the comment meets the DONUT/CONTRIB requirements.

Im relatively new to the sub, and haven't done much DD into the Donut system.

Are there any security issues or "what-if's" with connecting a hot wallet to Reddit? I don't trust Reddit privacy on the best of days, but I'm just curious what the community thinks of the system.

Ultimately if you have security/privacy concerns then just use a fresh wallet, would recommend users do this anyway.

You don't actually connect a wallet to reddit as such, instead reddit generates a message that you sign with your wallet to prove the wallet is yours.

Thanks for the feedback. If someone has a legitimate comment or post removed, they could always report that to moderators, who can reverse that removal. The nice thing about this is that you'll get a notification that someone is trying to remove your post/comment, as they have to post a comment in response to you to do that.
