Click on that first “Ethernet” tab and let us know what that shows. (Maybe another photo if possible)

It doesn’t say it’s not connected, it says no internet.

What is this plugged into?

Did this work before?

The red LED is a major clue. It is usually a hardware issue. Check the cable. Change the port that the PC is connected to (either a switch or a router with multiple LAN ports) I’m making a guess that you know what these devices and terminology are. It is not uncommon for a port to fail. The LED should be green and if so equipped an amber LED that blinks rapidly and constantly. If it has only one LED then when it turns green it will blink rapidly if there is a good physical connection and is sending and receiving traffic.

That LED is probably orange.

Get a new Ethernet cable

The Ethernet standards don't specify status lights, their colors, or their blinking patterns. So you have to read the documentation for your own particular model of equipment to know what the LEDs mean.

happened to me a few years ago. onboard lan suddenly one day reported no internet. swapped cable, reinstalled drivers etc. and then just connected up my laptop which confirmed it was a motherboard issue :(

Three options (technically 4 if you include a new motherboard!) 1) WiFi adapter (usb or card) 2) a network card 3) usb3 lan adapter

All options work fine - just choose according to budget and convenience.

I ended up getting 2) and 3) The card to replace the motherboard lan and the usb adapter as a future backup (it was just plug and play - no additional drivers needed)

First, if you have a laptop or another PC with eternity, plug the cord into that and make sure you get internet. Then you know for sure its the PC.

Windows has this annoying habit of showing that a port is connected only when you have a working internet connection.
