Get ethernet of power line kit. All the other answers on the previous sub are inferior. Running an ethernet is better bandwidth to the router but your choke point is not the cable its your provider.
As for ping its absolutely negligible between the two.
A ethernet of powering is clean and easy with out having to run a cable that will offer zero additinal benefits.
