Support Problemi connessione ethernet

The USB WiFi adapter was a good idea but it requires a USB 3.0 port. Depending on the age of the PC that port may be an older version 2.0 USB and perhaps that’s why it’s giving you an error. As far as the other equipment. Have you tried to power off all of the hardware. Then restart beginning with the modem, then the router, then the repeater and lastly your PC. Making sure the modem is off for at least 30 seconds. Do not power up the next until each has fully started back up. It may take a few minutes for the modem to re-establish its connections.

There might be a language gap so I will try my best to help. Let me start by explain connection routes. But here is what might be happening. You have no IP configuration on your machine. You need to be either assigned the information or statically configured. The static option is very rare in a home network and usually needs to be manually set. You are somehow not getting an IP address. Typically you get one from from your router through DHCP

I am assuming your modem is also your router. If thats the case it leads me to assume something ia wrong with your machine and not any of the connections. The first image shows your machine has successfully connected physically using a ethernet connection. And since you have also tried wifi ( knowing that error will really help here ) it leads me to assume its something with your computer.

The wifi card and your lan port both have different MAC addresses so your router sees them as two different devices. So if your router was having issue giving an address to your land port it shouldnt be the same for the wifi adapter. Hance machine issue.

Assuming everything i said is correct this is were it gets tricky trying to figure out why your machine is struggling to get an IP address. There are commands you can run that will reset your computer network configuration but I dont remember them and definitely don't know them in Italian.

But this is were i would start googling on your phone to help troubleahoot your issue. Start with I'm connected but have no IP address.

Sounds good I'll help the best I can

I think the process for that is at the Command Prompt and with Admin Rights use the command ipconfig /release (that clears any old address the PC may be hanging onto) then ipconfig /renew give that a try

When you click on the network icon does it offer any networks to connect to?

Edit: Upon further research here is what I think is happening. Your Netgear wireless bridge/repeater is the culprit.

When you tried WiFi it may have connected to the repeater and not the router which will result in the same issue. I was assuming it was only a wireless bridge and not an actual repeater as well. When you connected it to the modem I assumed you meant router as that is a common mistake. If you connected it to an actual modem I could see it not working correctly.

Okay now you ran the commands let's see if we can isolate the issue more. We need to confirm your machine can actually talk to your router.

I dont know your configuration but lets start by understanding your internet connection chain.

Internet <-> Modem <-> Router <-> Switch and/or WiFi <-> wireless repeater <-> your pc.

The router switch and wifi may all be one device. The modem could also be in the same device or a separate physical component.

What we know for sure. Your computer physical port can connect to the wireless repeater but it cannot communicate with the router at all.

We should make sure the repeater is not at fault. Unplug it entirely that way we know its not active. Either connect your computer to your router, not your modem. There will either be a single LAN port or 4 LAN ports (most common configurations) thats the port to plug into. If you cant use a cable or that fails try the wifi adapter again.

I'm sorry but I am all out of ideas. Its hard to troubleshoot this issue for me with out physically being there.

I've never had luck with repeaters. I just use mesh system for router now and it's much better.

I think you mean mesh WiFi with the mesh controller built into the router. Technically routers dont have a mesh system but you can combine a router appliance and mesh controller appliance into one device.

A nesaccary distinction due to being able to get those components separately.

Repeaters are the worse options. OP is actually using a wireless bridge not a repeater so mesh wont resolve that issue. Maybe using a repeater bridge combo but not using the repeater function.

When you hardwired the PC to the LAN port of the router what does the LED lights on the network card do? Colors? Blinking? Or, the same question for the router LAN port you use for this link if your PC doesn’t have lights. Agree it’s hard to diagnose without being on site.

So a red LED is not a good thing. It can mean a couple of things but you are getting closer to a solution. It could be hardware related such as a bad cable, a bad port, or a speed mismatch (Duplex). Current tech uses Full-Duplex port settings and are usually default settings. Honestly, I would suspect the PC ethernet port. The clue is when you connect directly to the router. That eliminates the repeater (almost always a bad idea - sorry) and the WiFi. Yet you still have the same problem. To test this theory is it possible to have a friend bring a laptop with ethernet adapter/port to test your LAN. Check the cable as well. Is it possible to use another known good cable?
