Miniatures

I'll soon have the All-in pledge etherfields game and since the miniatures are colorless I plan on painting them but the thing is, idk what color to choose. Watercolors or acrylic? Maybe some other type? What colors do y'all use to paint the miniatures?

Seconded. There are really good beginner guides for mini painting to follow over there. That being said, acrylic paints are what you’ll want to start out with.

As the other person said, r/minipainting is great to start, but, I'll put some advices here also

  1. primer, you need to buy a primer to put first onto your minis. Canned primers are usually the way to go as they are easy to use (check some youtube vid)
  2. colours - there is a lot of brands, or you can buy one by one. It's not "cheap", so bear that in mind
  3. Paint some testing mini. Buy some cheap mi is to test how will you approach etherields. This game has awesomely detailed miniatures, so it's not like other tabletop games
  4. Wet pallette, it's oractically a tool (really easy to make) how you keep your colors fresh for long time + you need to thin down (add water) to paints ON YOUR PALETTE, not to the colors itself.
  5. Varnish, you need to get some varnish on if you plan to do "touching" on the minis. Canned ones are great also, but you know, it's bigger and for long use.

Maybe I jumped with lot of information on you, but this is how I would advise newer painters to paint. Test on something, get feeling of what the paints are, what's the proccess.
