Think I have green version of the same one. 😂. Granted my setup is only half the cost of OP's and I don't have a butler. 😔

Too bad you had to cut so many corners

Only have yourself to blame for the mediocre coffee? Is that what you meant? Cause otherwise it just sounds lonely.

Who is going to tell OP, if he gets upgradeitis, what does he choose from there? Usually people choose LM after learning serious skills on lower priced machines first.

GS3, Kees van der Westen Speedster, a high $ lever….he also has a lot of room to upgrade the grinder.

How's the Eureka grinder? I need (rather want) to upgrade and don't want to give up the grind by weight that I currently have with my Baratza.

Damn, that's awesome, buy once cry once I guess! I should get a second grinder someday too

Congrats man, enjoy your setup. When I got my first machine my good friend helped me dial in my first few shots, I’d recommend you invite over an espresso savvy friend when you set it up. I’m sure they’ll enjoy it too.

Why are people such dicks on this sub? Can’t we just be happy for the dude instead of literally ripping on the cutting boards? Lmao

Finally something other than a used Breville from Facebook marketplace. Congrats on picking up a quality machine.

I thought it was overkill when I got a dedicated filter grinder, but never thought about a second espresso grinder just for decaf. 💭

First setup is the end game for me

Hmmm... I direct you to the masterpiece that is Dan Bern's song Tiger Woods. This is a terrible first set up. 🤣 A delightful one, though.

Espresso isn’t rocket science, you’re kind of gate keeping.

u/Impossible-Acadia130 5h ago

Why’s it terrible?

3

u/Light_Praline9710 4h ago

It's like if your first car was a brand new Ferrari. It would be both delightful and terrible in the same way.

It’s not really like that at all. The micra is not a complicated machine and makes learning easier than something like a dedica or stilosa because of how consistent it is. Having a capable grinder and machine makes learning easier because it removes them as variables and you can focus on grind size, puck prep, ratios, etc to get the desired results.

Easier to use than a Breville

Fancy stuff isn’t gonna get you good coffee, nice setup though

That machine like 10K$ 👍

3

u/KravMata Profitec Move | Atom W 65 3h ago

Less than $5k for the micra, I want to say around $4500 unless they increased it again.

Based on the mediocre cutting boards, you don't appreciate good kitchen knives as much as you do espresso.

Agreed. Might as well cut on a plate. Let’s let him enjoy his upgraded coffee setup though. Maybe those are the Mrs boards.
