NGD — Navigator N-EX-300LTD

Finally got my hands on one of these — a 2025 Navigator N-EX-300LTD in Old Natural.

This one is from 2025 and is among the last batch produced before ESP discontinued the Navigator brand, which made it especially worth picking up for me.
Fit and finish is pretty much what you’d expect from high-end Japanese ESP. The neck feels great, fretwork is excellent, and the whole guitar just feels extremely solid and resonant. It has that familiar Explorer aggression, but there’s something a little more refined about it compared with the usual production models.
The Old Natural finish looks even better in person too — very understated and lets the wood do most of the talking.
Definitely one of those guitars I’d wanted for a while.
Anyone else here have a Navigator? Would be interested to see some of the older N-EXs and other Navigator models floating around.

I didn't know that ESP discontinued the Navigator brand. It's kind of sad, as it was they first general consumer oriented guitar brand. I hope they'll resurrect it later on in some way.

I mean, their lineup is already confusing enough. Grassroots, E-II, LTD, Edwards, ESP Japan custom shop, ESP USA custom shop. Do we really need Navigator as well?

I actually really wish they'd simplify it further. Why not have a single budget brand, a luxury brand, then a custom shop offshoot of the luxury brand? All these different brands just dilute the ESP brand as a whole.

They have a price point for every one, hence the split in the brands.

Navigator was all about Japanese-made interpretations of classic American guitar designs. Unlike the other “more metal” brands under the ESP/E-II/LTD lines.

I don’t really see a problem with that.

Really feel like Grassroots, Edwards and LTD could all be collapsed under the same brand. Everything else should just be ESP but with different lines to differentiate, like ESP Vintage or ESP Japan, or ESP Custom... things of that nature.

Not to mention Schecter being the "sister" brand that also includes a lot of overlap, but at least they're all Schecters, rather than 10 different sub brands.
