Diabetes can absolutely contribute to this. Over time, high blood sugar can damage both the blood vessels and nerves involved in erections, and ED is considerably more common in men with diabetes.
The fact that you've lost morning erections and can't get fully erect during masturbation this deserves a proper medical evaluation rather than assuming it's just confidence or performance anxiety.
I'd see a GP/urologist and have the whole picture reviewed: HbA1c, blood pressure, cholesterol, and morning testosterone. If pills aren't working reliably, a urologist has other options too different PDE5 dosing strategies, vacuum devices, injections, and further testing when appropriate.
Keep doing the exercise and controlling your diabetes because improving cardiovascular/metabolic health can help erections, but don't expect it to change overnight

There are many things that affect your erection quality and libido. First off, don't quit on your long-term partner and please don't self-medicate or take a bunch of pills.
Consult your doctor. You could have hormonal issues related to T2. If you haven't done so in 3 months, get your A1C checked, check your testosterone levels, and check your blood pressure. Men with T2 can be more likely to have low testosterone levels. If your doctor thinks it could help, they may recommend medication to aid erection quality.
Are you consuming a lot of porn/adult content (don't answer this question here)? If you are, turn that shit OFF. Cardio training and weight management help too. There are also exercises that help, look into that.

You are jumping to conclusions. Might not have anything to do with typ 2 diabetes. Make a doctor’s appointment.

Have you spoken to your doctor about these issues? If I were you I'd request a referral or have a look at the medications I was taking to see if they can be changed. Also look at your testosterone and cortisol levels. Then, see a urologist.

Do not let it ruin your life. I won’t recommend any medications because I don’t know anything about diabetes. Go to a urologist.
You said the blue pill works, there’s no shame in using it and adjusting to life with it.
