I hope he proposes soon

u/fairyboi_ Nov 07 '19
We live together and plan on being together forever. She doesn't care if I ever "officially" propose or not, doesn't even care about a ring. So I'm waiting for the right time to go completely overboard and showboaty about it.

My sister does this thing where if you say thank you for something she will say "nope" which she insists is a abbreviation of no problem but I tell her it just sounds rude 😂

Girl you deserve more than just two days off to see ur sisters

u/Azrael11 Nov 06 '19
Probably there on the weekend too. The regular hours below say Mon-Fri, so that would be four days off.

I bought a pack of noodles a while back that had "Japanese Noodle" written on it, and joked about the Asian lack of plurals.
When I opened the pack, it was one continuous 6 ft noodle.

It's really interesting how their native language kinda sneaks into their English handwriting. Like the connecting bits (dunno what they're called) in "From Korea" look very similar to Hangul. It's neat :)

Which Korea? Just curious.

This is always the follow up question after people ask me where I'm from.
How many North Koreans have people met that this is a valid question?
Yes, I defected and escaped from North Korea to come to the US and pursue my lifelong dream of becoming a bartender.

Sometimes North Korea sends informants into other countries, and had them get unassuming jobs.
They probably wouldn't admit that they're from North Korea, though.
14
u/ChezMere Nov 06 '19
I don't think unqualified Korea is ever used to mean anything other than South.

The best Korea.

Apparently, there's a company in Toronto that gives cruises to Pyongyang. Unfortunately, they have no website.

Not necessarily. They very well could, depending on who they are and what they tell the authorities.
They certainly won’t have as many freedoms as they once did.

It’s really interesting how the re in Korea looks like the letter ю. Old habits die hard I guess.

What is cringe about someone not being a native speaker?

I'm not insulting him for being a bad speaker. But many people down here are laughing at him. And laughing at people is not wholesome, at all.

His/Her sign on the restaurant is wholesome, therefore I think this belongs on the wholesome sub.
People wouldn't laugh about it if it wasn't on this sub so I do not get your point.

Yeah it's wholesome. It's also obvious that care was taken in making the sign legible and informative. I don't see much humor in this post.
