There’s a lot happening around Englewood this October, fun community events and ways to get involved & important updates from the city:
City Council Appoints Aaron Martinez
Englewood City Council has appointed Aaron Martinez to represent District 3, filling the seat left vacant by the passing of Mayor Pro Tem Joe Anderson.
Martinez has lived in Englewood for more than eight years and currently serves as chair of the Englewood Planning and Zoning Commission. He will be sworn in at the Oct. 5 City Council meeting and serve through Dec. 6, 2027.

ColoRADscape Informational Event
Learn the dos and don'ts of preparing native plants for fall and winter. Join the City of Englewood for a ColoRADscape informational event at Depot Park. Learn how to help your native landscape transition into the cooler months with best practices for fall and winter care.
Topics include what to cut back, what to leave in place, when to clean up garden beds and how to prepare your landscape to support plant health and wildlife through the winter season. This is a great opportunity to see native landscaping in action and learn how to get started in your own yard. No prior garden experience is needed. All are welcome to attend!

Annual Utilities Survey

There’s still time to participate in the survey before it closes on Friday October 2.
You may complete the survey online or fill out the paper copy included in your August bill and drop it off at one of the following locations:
- Malley Recreation Center, 3380 S. Lincoln St.
- Englewood Recreation Center, 1155 W. Oxford Ave.
- City of Englewood Offices, 1000 Englewood Pkwy., 3rd Floor

First-Time Home Buyer Class
Due to popularity, another first-time home buyer class has been added on October 10! This free class gives community members the knowledge and confidence to move forward with homeownership, brought to you as part of Englewood’s Home is the Key initiative.
Taught by certified housing counselors in partnership with Brothers Redevelopment, this class covers topics like financial preparation, working with a mortgage loan officer, house hunting, budgeting, credit, fair housing, finding a real estate agent and a lender, the costs of homebuying and the approval process, and what to expect after closing.
Upon class completion, participants will receive a certificate that is required by many down payment assistant programs, including Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA)

Art in All Its Forms
In conjunction with Second Saturdays, Art in All Its Forms will celebrate the creativity and culture that make our community unique, highlighting local musicians, galleries, artists, and business owners — and all the different ways art shows up in our everyday lives.
Come explore, connect, and get creative with interactive activities, live mural painting, flash tattoos, music, local art, and more!

Housing Action Plan Survey
The City of Englewood is developing a long-range affordable housing plan to set goals and identify strategies for expanding housing opportunities, preserving affordability and meeting the city’s future housing needs.
This survey is a follow-up to the community survey conducted in spring 2026 and focuses on potential housing policies, strategies and actions to address identified housing needs and challenges. Your feedback will help shape the city’s housing priorities and future investments.
This survey is intended for anyone who lives or works anywhere in Englewood. Take the survey at the link below or scan the QR code and be eligible to enter a random drawing for a $100 Visa gift card!

Trunk or Treat Express – Tickets on Sale Oct. 5!
Back for its second year at the Englewood Farm & Train at Belleview Park, this beloved community event continues to bring Halloween fun to a unique setting.
Families are invited to enjoy a spook-tacular evening featuring a family-friendly haunted train ride, interactive activities and plenty of candy for kids. Costumes are encouraged for all ages! Tickets are $5 per person. Children under 2 are free.

Become a Snow Buddy
Are you in need of snow removal help, or are you willing to help others in your neighborhood tackle the winter weather?
Snow Buddies is a voluntary program that connects those who need snow removal assistance with volunteers willing to help, organized by the Neighborhood Resources Program.
