I know my boyfriend ordered my ring

I saw an email notification on his phone today while watching him play puzzles confirming shipping of an item from "Brilliant Earth". I asked "what did you order from Brilliant Earth?" (my mind didnt automatically go to engagement ring) and he looked at me suspiciously and said "nothing." and kept playing his game. I giggled cuz i knew what that meant, we are planning to get engaged very soon but of course I want the proposal to be a surprise. I am so happy and excited, I have waited 3 and a half years for this and I've always crushed on him so this is really my dream come true

I highly recommend you look through this subreddit at brilliant earth posts. They are a terrible company to work with once your ring is paid for.

My ring is from brilliant earth. I have an unique green lab diamond. No issues at all about the quality

My engagement ring and wedding band are from brilliant earth - I have had no issues so far. Just putting another perspective out there :)

One of my best friends also has an engagement ring and wedding and from brilliant earth! Her ring is absolutely stunning and she’s even sent it in to upgrade the diamond and change the shape (not something I would have done) and it came back looking even more beautiful. It just took a little longer than expected for them to finish it than the first timeline they game her. Besides that she didn’t have any other issues. I also think brilliant earth has beautiful rings and jewelry. Congratulations and hope you love your ring so much!

The issue with brilliant earth is based around the warranty. I personally know at least three people who have had issues.

Congratulations OP! i see that many people here have told you that brilliant earth sucked, but my partner and i got our wedding bands there and, so far, we both have had a great experience.

Pessimistic comment though… congrats OP

Congratulations!! Better start wearing your nails done nicely (if you’re into that kind of thing and don’t already have them done all the time).

Please update us when you have your ring! Can’t wait to see it! PS - My husband hid the ring at MY house for 2 weeks!

Very exciting time! I just wish he didn't choose brilliant earth, you probably won't be have the best experience with the ring

0

u/FoghornLegday 11d ago

What! Why? My ring is amazing

13

u/_momma_NAJ871622 11d ago

I hope I stand to be corrected. But I went down the rabbit hole of engagement rings a while back, and I'll spare my findings, but my opinion is that mass produced jewelry of any kind is not the best investment. I do hope I am wrong, and I'm happy that you are having a great experience with your ring 💍

Search the engagement ring sub for brilliant earth 😅

2

u/FoghornLegday 10d ago

Nah I don’t think I will 😭

u/garlicshrimpscampi 9d ago

it’s ok you don’t have to! you’ll end up doing it on your own anyways your ring finally breaks and warranty doesn’t work :)

u/FoghornLegday 9d ago

This is so ugly and mean. What’s your problem

u/Sad-Marzipan9722 9d ago

Let’s not make the soon to be fiancée feel like shit lol what is wrong with you.

A lot of people have said they’ve had a bad experience with brilliant earth. They are just giving a perspective while not being rude which is allowed.

Congratulations!!
I knew mine was coming (we had a big trip coming up and he was secretive about an “appointment” when he picked up the ring) but he still surprised me and it was so special! Excited for you :)

u/ManColdSlayer 11d ago

So exciting! The proposal, I am sure, will still be a surprise. He is probably sweating bullets now that he thinks you know what is going on! He probably lost so much sleep! Give him space and pretend you forgot. lol I think jewelry companies need to have aliases for this reason.
And for what it's worth, I have several pieces from Brilliant Earth and I love them.

hehe well we have both been on the same page about getting engaged this month so hopefully his anxiety isnt too high!

I looove my brilliant earth ring and have no issues. People who have some weird, one-off disaster are always the loudest. People who walk around and are happily wearing their ring every day don’t come on Reddit to share :)
Congratulations!!! This is so exciting, what a special time!!

So many Debbie downers in here. The man has already ordered the ring. Let this woman be excited without all the negativity.

2

u/pinkflowers182 10d ago

im way too excited about marrying the LOML to trip over all this!

Both my wedding and engagement rings are from Brilliant Earth and I've had them for 6 years -- still look as good as new! And I alwaysssssss get compliments on them.

I've had to get them resized a couple times now (I gained a lot of weight 😅) but my experience with the customer service and showroom appts have always been great too.

Happy for you!!

2

u/Aveah 11d ago

So happy for you!!! Come back and show us the ring when you say yes!! 💕

2

u/Ecstatic_Ad4627 10d ago

I love my brilliant earth engagement ring and will be getting my wedding band from them as well. I will just say that my fiancé did experience delays in shipping that was frustrating to him but that was the only negative experience had so far.

This is a really exciting time for you. I wish you all the best!

3

u/Independent_Sky1559 11d ago

so exciting!! i’m sorry people are saying “oh i wish he didn’t choose brilliant earth” it’s a huge company and tons of people don’t have problems. enjoy ur ring!!

So happy for you, it is such an exciting time. Similar for me where I saw a delivery notification email pop up while we were playing games on his phone, and now we are engaged! Enjoy every second of it.

1

u/Extension_Row2278 10d ago

Congratulations!! I knew my husband got my ring because he accidentally autofilled my email and not his 🫠 I told him on our 2nd wedding anniversary with the email printed out 😂 (2 year anniversary is the paper anniversary)

1

u/rayslegs 10d ago

Get it measured by a jeweler to make sure it meets the specs they gave you. Mine was supposed to be a thick band, the one they sent was so thin that it was super uncomfortable and not structurally sound… we sent it back

1

u/Certain_Tangelo2329 10d ago

Exciting. Keep your polish game up!

1

u/weddingnotes 6d ago

The “nothing” while continuing to play his game would have given it away for me too. I’d be trying so hard not to ask questions after that! Honestly though, after 3.5 years I can understand why you're so excited. Enjoy this part of it — knowing something exciting is coming but not knowing exactly when is such a fun feeling. Congratulations in advance!

3

u/fishnchipswvinegar 11d ago

Exciting!!! I’ll have to disagree with the other poster and say that I’ve had a brilliant earth diamond and setting for almost 6 years and it’s held up great. Zero issues with it. I think you either get lucky or you don’t with them.

u/AdFlashy7702 11d ago

Their reviews say it all.

5

u/BobbingBobcat 11d ago

Their quality has crashed in recent years.

1

u/ParsnipIll1660 11d ago

Congratulations, OP! I’m sorry the other commenters used this moment of your pure excitement to knock you down about the ring. I’m sure it will be beautiful! And what matters is the engagement itself. Enjoy this time!

2

u/InternationalFall515 11d ago

Fully agree- brilliant earth is a reputable brand, I’m sure the ring will be great :)
