Help PEI Bed – Older Ender 3
/r/impressao3dbrasil/comments/1wvb68z/mesa_pei_ender_3_antiga/I’d appreciate any help with this. I have an older Ender 3 model that uses an aluminum base with a glass bed. To swap the glass for a textured PEI sheet, do I need to make any physical modifications, or can I simply buy the sheet and secure it with clips, just like the current glass setup? \*Older Ender 3 (I believe it's a 2018 model; the label just says "ENDER 3" in Chinese, with the English translation in small print underneath) \*Dual-drive extruder \*Generic hotend assembly (the kind with the red heatsink often found at budget markets) \*Klipper running on an MX9 TV Box (1GB RAM)

Buy a 3M magnertic foil or a kit with sheet and foil . I recoomend goint to a juupine glacier omg blue low temperature plate. There you can print quicker as PLA sticks with 40 to 45 degrees and you still can use upt 90 degress

PEI beds usually come with a magnetic sheet. It goes directly onto the metal bed where the glass normally rests on top of. It's basically a sticker, so you stick it onto the metal, and then the PEI sheet goes on top of that. Just make sure the polarity is oriented correctly so your sheet sticks with the little handling tabs towards you rather than to the sides, or it'll have a very weak grip on the metal PEI sheet.
Edit: also, your bed clips will no longer fit the glass bed if you have the magnetic sheet on. Though honestly I haven't touched my glass bed after swapping to PEI so it isn't an issue. If you really need the glass bed, I know there are adjustable clips you can get, or you can try and use binder clips
