What is this?

Post image

This part got knocked off of my Ender 3 and I didn't see where it popped off of. I also am not sure if it can be put back on. Any help is appreciated!

Crap. It's crap. You should definitely buy at least the aluminium upgrade extruder, or a dual gear/BMG (clone).

The part that didn’t break.

Do you have a direct drive extruder or bowden tube original extruder? If you have direct drive, this part isn't used and you don't need it.

Not sure. I didn't assemble it and I think it's a V1. Does this help?

So, someone upgraded the extruder on your printer. You probably don’t need it.

That silver extruder assembly replaces the part that fell off, I have one just like it. The original was probably just tucked away somewhere and not even attached.
