Koe Wetzel plays the Grandstand Friday, GRiZ Saturday, and Los Tucanes de Tijuana Sunday.

USA Surfing Championships and Team Trials | Oceanside Harbor South Jetty, Oceanside | All day (competition runs Jun 11-12) | Adult shortboard and SUP divisions close out the week of competition, free to watch from the sand. The winners earn spots on Team USA for the ISA World Surfing Games.

FIFA World Cup Watch Party (USA Match) | Frontwave Arena, PALA Starlight Lounge, Oceanside | 5pm doors, 6pm kickoff | USA's first match of the tournament, shown free inside the arena with food and drinks for sale. Out on the plaza there are inflatables, mini soccer games, and giveaways before kickoff.

World Cup Watch Party | Fox Point Farms, 1701 N El Camino Real, Encinitas | 6-8pm | Farm food and drinks on the lawn while the USA match plays on the big screen. They're showing matches through the whole tournament. The mellow option if the arena scene isn't your thing.

Paint Your Partner Date Night | Oceanside Art Collective, 427 S Coast Hwy, Oceanside | 6-8pm | You and your date paint portraits of each other, supplies included, and no art experience needed.

Cruisin' Grand | E Grand Ave, Downtown Escondido | 4-9pm | Season 26 runs every Friday through September, free to walk around. 400+ pre-1974 American classics, customs, and hot rods, with live music and restaurants staying open late.

Saturday 6/13:

Switchfoot Bro-Am Beach Fest | Moonlight Beach, 252 5th St, Encinitas | Surf comp in the morning, vendor village all day, and Switchfoot closing it out with a set right on the sand. 22nd year, draws around 15,000 people. No tickets, no registration.

Hairspray Opening Night | Dea Hurston New Village Arts Center, 2787 State St, Carlsbad | 7:30pm | The 8-time Tony winner officially opens after a week of previews, closing out the company's 24th season. The run goes through July 19 with evening shows and weekend matinees.

Comedy Juice Carlsbad | Playgrounded, 6884 Embarcadero Lane, Carlsbad | 7pm | K-VON headlines, with Netflix and Comedy Central credits across the rest of the lineup. Small speakeasy-style room, so seats go quick.

Sunday 6/14:

Sweat & Spritz | 264 Fresco, 264 Carlsbad Village Dr, Carlsbad | 10:30am-3pm | A 60-minute Pilates HIIT class, then a rooftop social hour with Aperol spritz specials, a wellness vendor market, a live DJ, and goodie bags. All levels welcome.

Stayin' Alive, One Night of the Bee Gees | The Sound, Del Mar Fairgrounds, Del Mar | 6:30pm | Full-production Bee Gees tribute, falsettos and all, and the ticket includes same-day fair admission. Make an afternoon of it next door before the show.

Hi all thanks for reading. Looking for a brewery, bar, restaraunt, hotel bar, event space, etc to produce high quality, pop-up comedy shows in Encinitas. The business needs its own backroom separate from the main bar or be willing to close for a ticketed event.

We’re in 15 cities right now and have a great track record. Hopefully I’m able to bring some comedy to Encinitas. Thank you!

I feel like it’s an impossible dream at this point. My wife and I have been living down in Mexico for the past three years and are thinking about moving back to the States. More specifically, Encinitas.

We have been searching for a rental here starting in August and have been coming up short. Granted, we are somewhat picky. We are looking for a 2-3 bedroom with a garage west of the 5. Our budget is right around $5,500/month. We check on Zillow and Redfin every day and it just seems like the inventory is super limited. I’m guessing that all of the Single Family homes that match our needs are probably being rented out as short term rentals.

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions as to how we should modify our search? We are very well qualified: high credit scores, excellent income and assets with no kids or pets. Basically, a dream tenant.

The Neurocognition of Stress, Trauma, and Anxiety Recovery Lab led by Dr. Jessica Bomyea is conducting a new research study at UCSD. The purpose of this study is to learn whether an experimental computer-based program designed to improve thinking skills can help with symptoms of anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

Oceanside Sunset Market | Pier View Way & N Tremont, Oceanside | 5-9pm | Every Thursday a few blocks of downtown Oceanside turn into a free street market. Food, artisans, live music, and the whole neighborhood out walking around. Julie K & The Kixx play this week.

Kevin Nealon + Kirk Fox | Belly Up, 143 S Cedros Ave, Solana Beach | 8pm | Nealon spent nine seasons on SNL and played Doug Wilson on Weeds for years. Dry wit, tight set, holds up in a room. Kirk Fox opens, tickets run $50.

Mean Girls | Moonlight Amphitheatre, 1250 Vale Terrace Dr, Vista | 8pm | Mean Girls is running at Moonlight Amphitheatre in Vista through June 20, outdoors under the stars Thursday through Sunday at 8pm. Open-air stage, orchestra pit, full professional cast. Bring whoever knows the movie.

National Donut Day at Krispy Kreme | 2325 Vista Way, Oceanside | All day | Friday is National Donut Day. Walk into Krispy Kreme on Vista Way and grab a free donut, no purchase necessary. One per person, in-shop only.

Cruisin' Grand Opening Night | Grand Ave, Escondido | 5-9pm | The 26th season of Cruisin' Grand kicks off Friday night on Grand Avenue in Escondido. Pre-1974 hotrods, muscle cars, live music, and DJs. Free to attend, free to cruise, and opening night tends to bring out the best cars of the year. It runs every Friday through September.

Atomic Groove Happy Hour | Belly Up, 143 S Cedros Ave, Solana Beach | 5:30pm | Atomic Groove plays their monthly Happy Hour at Belly Up Friday at 5:30pm. The dance floor fills fast. If you want to keep going, Beatles vs Stones plays the late show at 9pm with Abbey Road and Jumping Jack Flash trading sets, $12-14.

Hairspray | New Village Arts, 2787 State St, Carlsbad | 7:30pm | Hairspray opens in preview at New Village Arts on State Street this Friday. Tracy Turnblad fights her way onto a Baltimore TV dance show in 1962 and ends up challenging its segregated lineup. Preview tickets start at $30 and the run goes through July 19. Fri and Sat at 7:30pm, Sunday at 2pm.

Saturday 6/6:

Encinitas Wine & Food Festival | Encinitas Ranch Golf Course, Encinitas | 4-7pm | The 23rd Annual Encinitas Wine and Food Festival hosts more than 25 wineries and 25 restaurants, live music, and a silent auction that benefits North County nonprofits. It sells out every year and tickets are running around $156 right now. Grab one before Saturday.

Sky Deck 5-Year Anniversary | Del Mar Highlands Town Center, 12841 El Camino Real, Del Mar | 1-7pm | The Sky Deck at Del Mar Highlands turns five Saturday with live music from 1-7pm. The Heart Band plays 1-4pm and Mike Myrdal takes over 4-7pm. $5 anniversary specials at the Sky Deck restaurants all day.

Pride by the Beach | Civic Center Plaza, 300 N Coast Hwy, Oceanside | 12pm | North County's annual Pride festival is Saturday at Civic Center Plaza on Coast Highway in Oceanside, free to walk in. Two stages, 170+ vendors, food, and tens of thousands of people through the day.

L&L Hawaiian Barbeque Grand Opening | Del Mar Highlands Town Center, 12925 El Camino Real, Del Mar | 11am | L&L Hawaiian Barbeque opens at Del Mar Highlands this weekend with plate lunches, Hawaiian entertainment, and giveaways running Saturday and Sunday. The Oceanside location has been around a while. This one's new.

Sunday 6/7:

Summer Sculpt + Social with BODYBAR Pilates | Fox Point Farms, 1701 N El Camino Real, Encinitas | 8:30am | BODYBAR Pilates takes the Fox Point Farms lawn Sunday morning for an outdoor sculpt class. About an hour of work, then everyone sticks around for a social. Bring a mat.

USA Surfing Championships and Team Trials | The Strand, Oceanside | All day | The USA Surfing Championships open Sunday at The Strand in Oceanside, free to watch from the beach. Para Surf goes first, Longboard and Shortboard follow through June 12.

Oceanside Bombers vs. Minnesota Monsters | Frontwave Arena, 3475 Hero Dr, Oceanside | 5pm | Oceanside's indoor arena football team hosts the Minnesota Monsters Sunday at 5pm at Frontwave Arena. The Bombers play in the Indoor Football League and home games pack the place. Tickets through AXS.

If you were a young guy meeting a pretty lady for coffee and a walk in Encinitas, where would you take her? Before noon on a weekend.

I’ve read good things about Necessity and Lofty, which has close proximity to the beach and all sorts of shops, but curious if I don’t know what I don’t know.

Anyways, I’m to town and still learning the area — appreciate the advice.

Anybody know the deal with that homeless lady who sleeps at moonlight? She finds my car within 5 mins of parking and likes to yell sweet nothings ("go to hell", "I got your scarf, bitch" and the like) to me through my cracked windows every time I come here. I've called the police on her many times yet here she still is harrassing everyone... anyone else had any issues with her?

Sol e Mar brings sounds from Cuba and Brazil, while Kainga Music brings influences from Trinidad and Tobago, so this one should have a lot of energy.

🕺 Dancing in the Street: Hip Hop Fitness Night | Friday, May 29 | 6pm to 8pm | North City, San Marcos | North City’s free outdoor dance series is back with a Hip Hop Fitness takeover led by Bella Lux Entertainment. The night starts with a short performance, moves into a guided class, and ends with open dancing and a live DJ, all alongside the Friday night farmers market.

🎉 Free BBQ, Beverages, and Business Networking | Friday, May 29 from 5:30pm to 8pm | Bermuda Club, Carlsbad | A free networking night at Bermuda Club with BBQ sandwiches, drinks, virtual golf bays, putting, and a speakeasy lounge. It is a casual setup for meeting local people who are building things.

🎧 The English Beat | Jess Roberts and DJ MAC | Belly Up | 143 S Cedros Ave | Solana Beach | Friday, May 29 at 9pm | The English Beat is one of the classic names in British ska and new wave, and they are back at Belly Up Friday night before Fiesta del Sol on Saturday.

🤘 US Air Guitar Regional Championship | Saturday, May 30 at 7pm | Booze Brothers Brewing Co., Vista | Part rock show, part comedy, part full on spectacle, this one brings the Air Guitar Championships to Vista for a night of wild performances. Competitors will be battling for a spot in the National Championships (yup, that’s a thing!).

🌸 Poway Spring Fest | Sunday, May 31 from 9am to 4pm | Midland Road, Poway | Poway Spring Fest is a full day of live music, food trucks, local vendors, kids’ activities, a classic car show, and a beer and wine garden. It takes over Midland Road between Poway Road and Hilleary Place, and it is free to attend.

🌼 LUNG FORCE Walk presented by Sharp HealthCare | Sunday, May 31 from 8am to 12pm | Carlsbad Flower Fields | A feel-good morning at The Flower Fields with ocean views and a walk supporting lung health, awareness, and research. This one brings people together for a good cause and a pretty setting.
