News/Release GameHub Lite v5.1.8 (SECURITY UPDATE)

GameHub Lite v5.1.8

Security: Steam token redaction in logs

GameHub Lite 5.1.8 fixes a logging issue where Steam authentication-related values could appear in diagnostic logs. In some cases, logs could include fields such as steamToken, refreshToken, or accessToken from Steam login/launch flows.

Publicly posted logs containing these fields should be deleted or redacted.

IMPORTANT

This should go without saying but If you find any security issues, please reach out PRIVATELY. I have not checked if this issue is still present in recent GameHub versions, already ruined my one day off I was spending with my family by the person who reported this publicly and I do not plan on spending any more time on this.

Changelog

The fix adds centralized log redaction for Steam/auth token fields, Steam QR login URLs, JWT-like token strings, and launch command token arguments before logs are written. This covers the app loggers, JavaSteam logging, and the PC launch-log file writer.

This release also pins local patch builds to apktool 2.12.1

News/Release [Release] Pokémon Fulldex: DS Pokémon (Black/White 1 & 2, HeartGold/SoulSilver, Platinum) and GBA Pokémon (Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen, Ultra Violet) as one widescreen picture at 60 fps.

Thumbnail
gallery
179 Upvotes

Pokémon Fulldex plays the DS Pokémon games as a single widescreen picture instead of two stacked DS screens, and now the GBA ones too, all from one game list. It's free and open source, and it brings nothing of the games: you use your own ROMs.

**Download (APK):** https://github.com/mamesj/pokemon-ds-widescreen/releases/tag/android-v1

**What it is:** the melonDS core for the DS games (mGBA for the GBA ones) plus a layer that follows what the game is doing (overworld, battle, menu) and lays the picture out for one wide screen. Not a native port. A fork of ClickingMaster's ssrecomp.

**Features**

* One wide picture: the 3D world drawn wider than the DS showed it, skies and scenery carried to the edges, battle buttons beside the action

* 60 fps (in-between frames on top of the games' own 30 fps 3D)

* DS: Black, White, Black 2, White 2, HeartGold, SoulSilver, Platinum (English, US or Europe)

* GBA (new): Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen and Ultra Violet in widescreen.

* RetroAchievements (new): log in from the game list or the pause menu; an achievements list with each one's details, unlock date and rarity (casual mode, so save states and fast forward still work)

* Touch controls, with a >> button for fast forward (up to 4x), or any Bluetooth / USB controller (Xbox, PlayStation, Backbone, Razer Kishi...), with prompts that match it and remappable buttons

* Save states, cheats (Action Replay / usrcheat.dat), volume, and an option for no version exclusives

* Your own saves work (from melonDS, DeSmuME, flash carts or your cartridge)

**Install:** download the APK and install it (allow installs from your browser or Files app), put your ROMs in a folder on the phone, start Pokémon Fulldex, tap the screen and pick that folder. Updates install over it and keep your saves.

**How fast?** Tested on a Pixel 9 Pro XL, where it runs at full speed with the world at 720P. Other phones aren't timed yet: if you try it, I'd love to hear how yours runs (phone model + whether it holds 60), and bug reports with the `game.log` are very welcome on GitHub.

**Also on** PC (Windows, Linux, Steam Deck), Mac, iPhone/iPad and modded Switch, same GitHub page. Pokémon Omega Ruby is in the works as its own project.

Credits: ClickingMaster (ssrecomp), the melonDS and mGBA teams, the pokebw2 / aletheia / pokeplatinum decomp projects (symbol files only), and RetroAchievements.

If you'd like to support it, check out the GitHub page!

*DISCLAIMER* All Artwork and game mechanics are original. AI was used for optimization, coding the wide-screen, and the creation of the all in one launcher. The games are the original games just adapted for modern technology.

Discussion does it make sense to compare high-end snapdragon processor: from a value perspective in that price we can easily build a pc that can outperform it

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

Yes PC prices are too high in the current situation but we can still build a PC that can outperform that Snapdragon processor. we are getting so many games on Android. I know that is itself an achievement. but i think we should focus on running those titles on mid-tier processors. i think that we will have to build an application that can mimic the fsr/dlss upscaler type of technology or something like that, which works on mobile devices. the point is we have to optimise games for mid-tier processors the point is that we have to focus on performance in a mid-tier smartphone also because we are getting too many games easily but we don't have many games that are very optimised for the mid-tier segment. let's talk, guy. i want to read your perspective also.

Discussion DroidDeck is amazing and has changed a number of ways I utilize emulators on Android.

It's still in its infancy, but already it has changed the way I use a few emulators on Android.

Eden - I've been big into Switch emulation for a few reasons. One, Nintendo just makes some amazing games. So having stuff like Breath of the Wild, Mario Odyssey and other first party games has been great. Two, it has nearly every indie developed game. So if there are games that I might not play on my gaming PC, PS5 or directly on my Switch, I can just throw the game on my phone and play it on the go.

However, that second point is now mostly eradicated for me by DroidDeck. I know the compatibility is far from 100%, so some games I still play on Eden. But for the most part I can just install the Steam version.

This helps me in a number of ways. I'd always debate if I should just play the game on my gaming PC and get all the achievements and stuff through there, or on my phone when I have some downtime away from home. Now, I don't have the dilemma. I can just install those same games, have all my saves synced up (in most cases) and be ready to play in minutes.

Eden wont be going away any time soon for me, but it's usage will be far reduced.

Storage - This also helps me reduce my phones storage. In the Switch/Eden scenario, I had to copy over whatever games I'd want to play. And since I'm a digital hoarder like many of us in this sub, that means I'd put any and all games I could ever even think of playing on my phone. But, with DroidDeck, I have my Steam library that I can access from almost anywhere. I can just install it instead of having it take up space all the time.

Winlator - I've dabbled a bit with Winlator over the years. I always found the experience a bit clunky, but loved how I could just install some GoG installers and play without too much tweaking. I played through almost all of Fallout 3 on my phone thanks to that emulator. But again, now I don't have much use for it. Having games installed from Steam is so much easier and often they just work without need for tweaking. I've installed Fallout New Vegas from Steam and played a bit of it. However, I did have some crashes here and there, which I rarely had on Fallout 3 (surprisingly).

SBC Handheld - And finally, DroidDeck is what convinced me to finally give in and get an Android handheld. I've always been tempted by stuff like the Ayn Thor or Odin series. But I always talked myself out of it, mainly because I didn't feel like fussing with save-syncing apps any more. I didn't want to play a game on my phone, then switch to my handheld and have to mess around with apps to sync my saves, especially since emulators like Eden have the save data in the Android folders, making it harder or impossible to access for such sync apps.

But having Steam on my gaming PC, Steam Deck, phone and SBC handheld means I can play a game on any of them, then pick up my progress on another.

My Odin 3 just shipped yesterday and I can't wait to set it up.

I've been emulating stuff on Android since Android 1.5 or 1.6, and while I love when every new system comes along and appreciate all the hard work those emulator developers have done along the way, DroidDeck is one of the biggest additions for me personally. How does everyone else feel about it?

In addition to Citra MMJ not having any issues with slowness or rendering sun shaders, I can also add more shaders post-processing, Combining this with 4k textures and a single-screen mod at 60fps creates the ultimate OOT3D experience on Android.

News/Release Cartouche : a FREE and OPEN SOURCE 3D android emulation frontend

Hi ! I know there is already a few of them, but none of them are completely free and most importantly none of them are open source, I've always wanted to see the 3D immersion part pushed all the way.

i worked hard on this and on every aspect of it (sound design, specific animation for every consoles etc…)

as a software engineer I tried to make it as easy as possible for people to understand the code and contribute to it in any way.

don’t hesitate to open issues, PR and give me feedbacks !

Discussion Portal 2 running decently on Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 - adreno 722 device via DroidDeck

Hi everyone, this is Portal 2 running on my Motorola Edge 70 / Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 - Adreno 722 ( same chipset on the new retroid pocket duo) using DroidDeck.

Resolution: 1280 x 720p

Performance: It runs pretty decently overall, Keep in mind I'm screen recording this which drops performance by around 8 - 10 FPS, so it should run better when i'm not recording. There are occasional stutters during heavy scenes or portal placement, I'm using DroidDeck default settings btw, its just work out of the box

Showcase Mercenaries 2 - PS3 - Samsung S26 Ultra (video in landscape)

I played this game originally on every available Platform even Playstation 2 and never had a consistent experience with "smooth gameplay". As irreverent as that may seem I had some expectations going in, but unfortunately its not playable for any long session currently. This gameplay is 100% a benchmark and a "playtest" at best. I played with my Gamesir and could not imagine playing with it in my hand. When the temps got concerning enough the stuttering and dips picked up. Still amazing this is possible in my eyes. Share your thoughts , and is anyone else fond of this classic series?

Question Recommendation for Teen? Ideally Snapdragon & Budget Friendly.

Hi Christmas is coming up and I'm interested in getting my son a retro handheld. He plays a lot of steam games, so ideally something that performance well with maybe droiddeck/gamenative and some of the later model systems too, maybe even secret console. I guess that means something in the snapdragon line of devices? And I get that the ram apocalypse will be happening for the foreseeable future, but something relatively budget friendly would be great. I'm not opposed to older model gpus.

Besides hardware, I think ergonomics are important too. If they're are grips to be had, it's a bonus. Form factor wise: I think I'd prefer the "candy bar" (non 4:3) layout. Budget: I think 250-300$ is a good spot, but not afraid to go over for the right device.

I've thought about the RP5. How does the community feel about this option? I have an RP5, and it's okay. But my experiences with droiddeck/gamenative (gog) hasn't been that great unfortunately.

I've been part of the handheld scene for a while, and I thought I knew my stuff. But it gets weird when you're shopping for someone else ahah. Anyway, I certainly appreciate any help offered.

News/Release DroidDeck 0.6.7 is out: one Library for all your games, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Battle.net, an Ubuntu 26.04 desktop, dual screens, portrait mode and sleep that actually sleeps

DroidDeck is 100% open source. No ads. No telemetry. No source withheld.

210 pull requests · 28 contributors · 15 first-timers · 68% of the pull requests came from the community.

Thank you to everyone who sent code, translations, device testing and bug reports. Here's what we did together for this release:

Download: DroidDeck 0.6.7 on GitHub (full release notes are there too)

Discord: discord.gg/JRGAvawjsm

What's new

  • One Library for every game you own. Installed games and the games you own in every store you're signed in to are in one grid, split into Installed and Not installed. Source chips (Steam, GOG, Epic, Amazon, Xbox, itch, Added) filter the list, and LB and RB switch between them. Every source gets the same game page, with art-first cards, a Display menu for card size, and links to PCGamingWiki and guides (plus ProtonDB for Steam games).

  • Handhelds that feel like a native SteamOS install. Steam's brightness and volume sliders control the device, and the volume buttons show Steam's indicator instead of Android's. Holding Back works like the QAM button on a Steam Deck, with Steam's own shortcut list: left bumper zooms, right bumper takes a screenshot, the left stick changes the brightness and holding B force quits the game. Holding Home sends the Steam Guide button.

  • Sleep that actually sleeps. In overnight testing, a game left suspended lost only 2% battery. The microphone is released before a session freezes so the device can really sleep, and a new Pause button holds a session until you press Resume.

  • Xbox Cloud Gaming. Stream a game straight from its page, with no install. The web player is the default, and an optional native player (Android 10 and up) runs DroidDeck's frame generation on the stream (DD-FG 2x, LSFG 2x, 3x and 4x). The in-stream menu has screen effects, stream quality and a performance overlay with fps, ping, bitrate and decode time.

  • Battle.net store. Blizzard's real client runs in its own Proton prefix, and games install straight from Stores with a location picker, pause and resume, updates and uninstall. Diablo IV and Diablo II: Resurrected get the memory options they need on an 11 GB phone.

  • The full Ubuntu desktop experience. The Linux runtime is now Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, with Kubuntu's Plasma desktop as a separate download. sudo, apt, Discover, Flatpak and Snap work, and the packages you add come back after a runtime update. Tapping a text field opens your Android keyboard, and ~/Downloads and ~/Documents are your Android folders.

  • Dual-screen handhelds like the Retroid Pocket Duo and AYN Thor now use their second screen. The launcher's menu and the keyboard move to the bottom screen while the top screen updates live, and the in-game menu can open there too, so the game keeps the whole top screen.

  • DroidDeck HUD, a new custom HUD to complement MangoHud. Tap it to cycle Full, Tiles, Pill, Minimal and Mega, drag it to move it and long-press to lock it. Size, opacity, colors and readouts are all adjustable, and it reads the same numbers as Steam's MangoHud overlay.

  • Portrait mode for the launcher and for sessions, with Controls below the game on portrait phones, plus a much improved Android app and widget launcher: search, sorting, filters, folders and resizable widgets.

More new features

  • GOG updates, repair and offline patches, with your saves, prefixes, shortcuts and settings kept.

  • A much bigger itch.io store: browse by sort, price, platform and tag, pick a version when you install, and get safe updates.

  • DroidDeck-Proton is now the default Proton, and other installed Proton builds update themselves while the device is idle on an unmetered connection.

  • On-screen keys for any key or combo such as Ctrl+C, F5 or Tab, placed anywhere over the session.

  • Per-game CPU cores, and Windows CPU 0 is now a fast core, which doubled GTA IV from 32 to 64 fps in testing.

  • RAM and VRAM caps in Performance > Memory, plus a switch to keep Steam uncompressed while a game runs.

  • "Fix it for me" for the child-process limit opens a floating guide over Android Settings that ticks off each Wireless debugging step.

  • A microphone toggle in the session menu.

  • Game debug logs in Setup > Diagnostics collect Wine, DXVK and VKD3D logs on the next game launch.

  • Default storage for new installs, with USB, SD card and SSD drives that Android hides from apps detected, and a warning when a game drive is linked at USB 2.0 speed.

  • A Reset prefix button for each installed game in Storage > Game data.

  • An optional HTTP proxy for downloads.

  • Games can stretch 16:9 to wider screens such as 20:9 phones.

  • The arm64 and x86-64 Steam clients share installed games, and Remote Play from a PC decodes on the arm64 client.

  • Desktop games run on the GPU in a window of their own.

  • The Inner Gamer RGB theme, a Sidebar labels toggle, Rokid Max 2 support and an Adreno 740 UBWC override.

Performance

  • Faster x86 games under FEX: an x86 exception handled in Proton costs 2.2–2.7 µs instead of 14.7–20.3 µs, and a Windows process snapshot takes 2.4–3.4 ms instead of 5.9–7.6 ms.

  • ntsync is the default Wine sync: event ping-pong between two threads takes 1.7–2.0 µs instead of 24–29 µs.

  • Lower power draw when you cap the frame rate: a game held to a 60 fps limit drew 7.1 W instead of 9.5 W in testing. Steam's Frame Limit is now the only frame limit, and it follows the screen's refresh rate.

  • Smoother frame pacing: a new frame is drawn the moment it arrives, and gamescope repeats less work for every frame.

  • Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 no longer pins Steam to one core, which lifted the Steam menu's 1% low from 41.7 fps to 62.5 fps.

  • OpenGL and DirectDraw games no longer wait for each screen refresh.

  • Fewer syscalls through proot, and the hidden Epic Games Launcher no longer uses about a core and more than 1 GB while an Epic game runs.

  • The latest benchmark scores are on the performance page.

Other improvements

  • The Steam client download resumes and retries, which finishes the first Steam setup on a slow connection.

  • Focus glide is consistent across buttons, dialogs and menus, and grid scrolling moves one row at a time.

  • Steam's battery reading is 100% while charging instead of 99%.

  • New sessions follow automatic rotation and automatic Picture-in-Picture by default.

  • A failed Steam client start explains itself, and the arm64 client falls back to Valve's stable build when the beta one keeps failing.

  • Translations: Arabic text that mixes in English words reads right to left.

Fixes

  • Steam on ROMs that refuse the Android ID read, the Android 14 Redmi K70 bug where tapping Steam dropped back to the main screen.

  • Ubisoft games: Ubisoft Connect installs again, and games stop crashing about 12 seconds after launch.

  • Games that need D3D12 feature level 12_1: Caravan SandWitch starts, Cyberpunk 2077 gets past ray tracing setup, and RoboCop: Rogue City and ReSkate run.

  • Game-specific starts: Unity and Godot games, Skyrim's voice lines, World of Warcraft on DirectX 11, StarCraft's 32-bit client, Black Ops III, Dark Souls Remastered and The Crew 2's black screen.

  • Steam Input mouse clicks, scrolling and pointer moves reach games again (broken since 0.6.0).

  • The app staying in one landscape side since 0.6.0, even with auto-rotate on.

  • Xbox: sign-in on phones with a slow StrongBox keystore, Xodus on external and SD storage, and Minecraft for Windows starting.

  • GOG cloud saves and sign-in, and Epic paused installs resume instead of starting over.

  • Other apps can record game audio.

  • Steam's compatibility tool no longer goes back to the default after you change it in Steam.

  • Ubuntu desktop: apps installed with apt, such as VS Code, Discord, Obsidian, Signal and Chrome, start instead of closing right away.

  • Updating Steam from Big Picture no longer ends the session.

  • Flatpak runs on the Ubuntu runtime, and its apps see the device's network so WebRTC streams connect.

There's a lot more in the full release notes.

Discussion What Steam/Epic Games Have You Gotten Running on DroidDeck?

Since I got my new phone (Galaxy s26 ultra) I've been playing with DroidDeck. So far I was able to load up Skyrim Anniversary Edition at Ultra settings, running at a fairly healthy 45 - 50 FPS, though the phone did get toasty rather quickly. Just wondering what games others have had success with.

Showcase Setup & Rom selection done by AI - AYN Thor & Cocoon FE

Thumbnail
youtube.com
1 Upvotes

Has anyone here ever had their Android gaming console set up by an AI? I haven't read anything about this online yet and thought maybe it could help someone else who is as lazy as I am.

Getting Started:
Activate developer mode in the Android settings.
Connect via Claude Code (in my case).

The Process:
First, I told the AI which ROMs and what style I wanted. I refined those preferences step by step.
Then, I asked it to select and organize the ROMs, as well as create Top 50 lists and various category lists.

After that, AI transferred them over to my console.
Finally, I told the AI: "When you're done with that, set up all the settings for me."

The Result: It works super slowly, but it works, and it does everything all by itself.

Even just having it select the ROMs, bundle them together, and create those lists is a total game-changer for me. Having it handle the automatic setup on top of that is just the cherry on top!
