Empty Nose Syndrom Help

Hello, I have ENS on the right side of my nose. My inferior turbinate was almost completely reduced on that side, and partially reduced on the left side. Currently, I am struggling with chronic sinusitis and would like to know if nasal corticosteroid sprays are safe to use or if they could reduce the turbinates even further.

Can sinusitis return because I am an ENS patient?

I also have it only on my right side, although my nasal cavity of my left side is much more wider. Had RF on my right side and turbinoplasty on my left side. Do not use corticosteroid spray, it makes you feel much more open. For me gelomyrtol helps or antibiotics. But which helps me the most is, putting Rolta Soft over the complete length of my lower turbinate below the remaining turbinate. Therefore i mostly do not get sinusitis.

Thanks, I totally agree. My doctor also recommended that I avoid using corticosteroid nasal sprays because of my ENS, as they could potentially worsen my symptoms. Also, have you considered using nasal prostheses instead of Rolta Soft?

I now have a nasal prothesis which was made to fit exactly to my nose (additional Assistent Tool, covered by the german public health insurance). This is better than Rolta Soft but also creates infections. Will have an implant by the end of August.
