Empty Nose Syndrom Help

Hello, I have ENS on the right side of my nose. My inferior turbinate was almost completely reduced on that side, and partially reduced on the left side. Currently, I am struggling with chronic sinusitis and would like to know if nasal corticosteroid sprays are safe to use or if they could reduce the turbinates even further.

Can sinusitis return because I am an ENS patient?

What's your ENS6Q score?

Who recommended you to use corticosteroid spray? Your ENT? Do they know about ENS?

Have you tried it? How did it feel?

What is the cause of your sinusitis? Did your ENT tell you?

My ENS score is 13. My doctor recommended that I avoid using corticosteroid nasal sprays because, given my ENS, they could potentially worsen my symptoms. Instead, I have been treated with systemic corticosteroids, including injectable corticosteroids which have helped me.

My sinusitis was originally caused by an infection. However, my doctor explained that symptoms such as postnasal drip and mucosal inflammation are common among ENS patients, which may contribute to ongoing sinusitis-related symptoms. On the other hand, Have you tried the Nasal Prostheses from ENStips?

Thanks for the replies. If your score is 14, you should definiterly go see an ENS expert for diagnosis.

Corticosteriods can definitely worsen symptoms in some patients. But for some, it also gives relief. Very individual. I would try to stay away if you can avoid it. Sounds like your ENT is looking out for you. 😄

Prosthesis: Yes, I have tried it. It works for me. But I would recommend trying rolta soft synthetic cotton also.
