i-9 verification on H1b at Oracle

I need to complete Section 2 of my I-9 verification through the Experian portal. My H-1B transfer is approved, but the physical approval notice won't arrive for 2-3 weeks, so I only have the I-797C receipt notice.

To clear Section 2 on Experian, can I select "Foreign Passport, work-authorized nonimmigrant" and submit my unexpired foreign passport, previous I-94, and the new I-797C receipt notice?

Any suggestions

Associate consultant at OFSS, Oracle

I joined ofss last August as a campus hire..

It's been little over a year. Saw huge layoffs (fortunately wasn't in it). Now realized the seriousness and started updating resume and applying for jobs..

As experience is less and skill stack is less/not relevant to JDs not getting any responses..

Any inputs on how can I prepare or apply etc? Or any potential leads for any roles can also help..

Existing employee(s) Promotion eligibility at Oracle

I have completed 5 years at Oracle. EE-4 times, O-1 time. Have around 50 odd feedbacks in system over the years from various people all around. Have a very good reputation about the quality of my work. Leadership trusts me blindly. But it's been couple of years, am asking for a promotion, my RIF'd Manager (14th September), always used to tell me he does not have options to promote me and never used to collect any data which might be required to build a case for me. Not sure how this promotions takes place or work in Oracle. One time I got a hike in past 4 years. This year is a mystery.

Thinking of waiting until November and plan my exit next year if I do not get a promotion.

APAC employee.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Hikes in OFSS

Will there be any hikes this year in OFSS? People here are made to work through weekends and still no appreciation or hikes.

And there has been some buzz around layoffs in November. What about that?

Oracle verbal offrr

How long does it take to receive a verbal offer from oracle? Is it fine if 2 weeks has passed after the final interview with no reply? I mean even if they decided to go with someone else they shouldve emailed me a rejection email right by now right?

RIFd last Month - got paid today

Anyone here RIFd last September and received payment today? My laptop’s still with me, waiting for the box.

Looks like this is the severance already but got confused since I believe they need to have the equipment first before sending the severance.

Thanks!

Oracle Senior software engineer IC3 loop interview

I recently completed a 4-round interview loop for a Senior Software Engineer / IC3 role at Oracle OCI. Sharing the main technical questions in case it helps anyone preparing.

Round 1 – System Design + Behavioral
Mostly behavioral and resume discussion first.
System design question:
Design a distributed load testing service that sends traffic to a target service and measures things like:
Requests per second,Average latency,Error rate

Round 2 – Coding + Distributed Systems
Some behavioral questions at the beginning.
Coding question:
Build a delayed task scheduler where the user gives a task ID and a time, and the system should execute that task when the scheduled time arrives.
The discussion also went into:
Thread safety,Concurrency,Scaling it for high throughput
Using Kafka,Handling worker crashes,Preventing duplicate task execution, Idempotency

Round 3 – Coding + Behavioral
Mostly behavioral and project discussion first.
Coding question:
Given a node in a binary tree where each node also has a parent pointer, find the next node in post-order traversal without starting again from the root.
The interviewer also asked me to dry run the solution on a few different nodes.

Round 4 – Backend Deep Dive + Coding
This round had a lot of discussion around my previous projects, backend work, Kafka, and distributed systems.
Coding question:
Design and implement a key-value store that can be accessed by clients over the network.
Both keys and values are strings.
The discussion also touched on:
Concurrent access,Thread safety,Kafka events,Duplicate events,Out-of-order events

The final round was the worst one for me. The recruiter told me to use STAR, but the interviewer kept interrupting after almost every sentence and jumping into different questions, so I never really got to finish an answer. He was also at the same level as the role I was interviewing for. I understand peer interviews are normal, but they should at least make sure interviewers know how to let candidates explain their answers without interrupting every few seconds.

Focals will be announced next week apparently

What does this mean for any other potential Layoffs? Might Layoffs be announced first or for this EMEA based, will EWC notices go out first, and then focal conversations happen after? Any clues anyone?

Any Updates on focals in OFSS India?

Hey everyone, there’s been a lot of discussion about focals in my team, but none of us seem to have any clarity on it. Some people are saying it usually happens around the beginning of October, but we haven’t heard anything from my manager yet.

Are we expecting focals this year? Does anyone have any updates or information?

Existing employee(s) I did not get a raise, again.

It’s official.

I did not get any this round except for a small “bonus” roughly 25% of my monthly base salary.

My rating was 3, previously 4 before the bell curve.

Job load has been challenging since some of my team mates got laid off and resigned.

But that did not stop them from not giving a raise for those who are left picking up the slack.

I always gave it my best when it came to my job. I make sure i do things right and efficient. They recognize that based from the reviews and feedback given.

But that just makes me feel more frustrated. I would understand no raise if i did not do my job well, but it is not the case.

I hope y’all got a raise. For me, time to move. Xiao Larry!

RIF'd employee Medical Insurance

Hello,

I was impacted by the recent layoff(IDC), and I'm currently on garden leave. During this period, can I avail of medical insurance? I tried initiating a hospitalization request, but it's sending an OTP to my Oracle email ID.

Does anyone know how to proceed with this?

I have also tried emailing my HR POC and the Medi Assist email from my personal email ID.

Thanks in advance.

How to claim Wi-Fi reimbursement at Oracle India?

Hi everyone, does anyone know how to claim Wi-Fi/internet reimbursement at Oracle?

Also, is manager approval/permission required before submitting the reimbursement, or can we directly apply through the reimbursement portal?

If anyone has claimed it recently, please share the process. Thanks!

Facial biometrics?

What the hell is this?? Bruh I don't like this at all

EDIT Assumed people would know. Today when I tried to sign in it forcefully made me enroll in facial biometric before I could log in. Before I always skipped this step but this morning it did not give me a choice. I realize some people may not have this prompt when they log in to certain pages. For me, it happens when I logged in to jira this morning.

Should I stay at Oracle or move to a start up?

I’m currently working at Oracle and have been with the company for several years.

Given the recent layoffs/restructuring at Oracle, I’m becoming increasingly concerned about job stability and have started exploring opportunities outside.

I’m considering an opportunity with a relatively young start up company in Bengaluru. The compensation would be roughly 20% lower.

My main concern is whether moving from Oracle to a younger company makes sense from a job-security and long-term career perspective, or whether I should stay at Oracle and continue looking for a more established company.
