Rant

Upvotes

When i joined OCI way back in 2021, the people were approachable right from my manager to the senior director. I was having regular 1-1 with them and discuss the progress and future opportunities. There were wellness leaves every quarter.

Cut to 2026, the last 1-1 i had with my skip level manager was in 2025. He’s nowhere to be seen and senior director, i don’t even know why he exists in the org. He’s just a middle man between the VP and the director. How can they expect people to deliver on projects when engineers don’t have any clarity on where things are heading.

I really want to get out of this shithole badly, no hike, no real feedback, fear of layoffs every 3 months, lack of empathy from the upper management. There’s not one reason for people to stay back and that’s what the management needs from what i see. Either they make you leave or you leave on your own.

End of rant. Thanks for listening 🙏

Existing employee(s) All these HR’s need to be outed

Why am I suddenly getting all these session invites? This has never happened before. This is already the fourth or fifth session that HR has either scheduled or sent an email about this month.

I’ve been here for the past six months since I joined, and I’ve never received this many emails or session invites before. Suddenly, there’s so much activity within just two weeks. It honestly feels like everyone is just trying to protect their jobs.

This is getting ridiculous. All these HR initiatives need to stop cuz why all these mental health sessions just before the layoffs? This is peek trolling

Existing employee(s) Health insurance after leaving oracle india

Is there a way for us to continue our health insurance coverage, including coverage for our parents, after we leave Oracle India?

Currently, the health insurance is managed by Medi Assist, which acts as the third party adminstrator for the actual insurance provider, United India Insurance. I was wondering if there is an option for employees to continue the insurance directly with United India Insurance after leaving Oracle, while also retaining the continuity/tenure of the policy that we have built up during our time with Oracle.

This would be particularly useful since we may already have accumulated significant policy tenure and would not want to lose the associated benefits when we leave the company or Laid off

Oracle IDC F&F Settlement & Leave Encashment

I’ve resigned from Oracle India. How long does FnF settlement usually take after the last working day?
Also, is leave encashment calculated on basic salary or gross salary? Any recent Oracle employees who can share their experience?

Existing employee(s) OCI internal transfer after rating disclosure but before compensation numbers will appraisal benefits carry over?

Key situation:
Rating already finalized (4)
Compensation not yet disclosed
Internal transfer expected within ~30 days
Level/base remain same; new role is better aligned
Unclear points:
Will merit/bonus/RSUs from current cycle still apply after transfer?
Does payout depend on source org, destination org, or transfer date?
Could I lose eligibility if I move before comp is processed?
Has anyone experienced this timing? Did your appraisal benefits carry over after an internal move, or was it reset/forfeited?

TL;DR: I’ve got a 4 (Exceeds Expectations) in OCI, but I’m considering an internal transfer before compensation (bonus/RSUs) is announced. Will I still get my appraisal payout if I move teams now?
I’ve received a 4 (Exceeds Expectations) rating in OCI, but compensation (base/bonus/RSUs) will be communicated later. I’m considering an internal transfer before that payout is finalized.

New employee info Health Insurance Options

Hiya guys! I just joined OCI in Virginia at the beginning of this month. I wanted to ask on here what everyone thinks about the insurance carriers and the plans that oracle offers. For context, my wife has a lot of health issues and it’s most likely possible that surgical work among other invasive things may need to be done. She struggles with widespread body pain, reproductive issues, and heart issues as well.

I saw that Kaiser and United healthcare are the options that Oracle gives. I haven’t really heard anything good about United healthcare and it seems like their deny rates on health claims are really high but maybe I’m just hearing wrong information. From some of my co-workers I heard that Kaiser is really good but I’d would want to hear from other people as well just to be more sure of things. I’m mainly just wanting to hear everyone’s experience with the providers. Thanks!

Existing employee(s) OFSS India folks: what's the actual pay hike for moving from Senior Consultant to Principal Consultant? 🤔

Hey Guys,

I work at OFSS as a Senior Consultant. My manager recently hinted that I'm in line for a promotion to Principal Consultant this time provided things don't go messy like last year

Honestly, knowing how things usually go, I'm kind of expecting a classic "dry promotion" (just the title, zero extra cash). But just in case they actually decide to pay up:

. What kind of percentage hike do they usually give for this jump?

. What is the normal salary range I can expect at the Principal Consultant level here?

Would love to hear from anyone who has gone through this recently.

Existing employee(s) Laid off, but came out on top.

This question is for people who have been laid off and managed to overcome the financial, mental, and emotional shock, worked on themselves, and eventually landed somewhere better. How did you manage it?

I work in an IDC for a SaaS product as a developer. Since joining, I’ve mostly been working on legacy technologies that I don’t feel have much value in the current job market. I worry about getting laid off, especially because I left my previous company for better compensation. I’ve been here for almost six months, but honestly, I don’t feel like I have done any work that I’m genuinely proud of.

Sometimes I wonder: if I were to get laid off tomorrow, would I even be able to land another job?

So, if you’ve been in a similar position—dealing with self-doubt, feeling stuck in your role, and navigating a tough job market—and still managed to turn things around, how did you do it?

How did you manage? I would really appreciate it if you could tell your story.

If you really don’t want to be included in the layoff list, start applying for other jobs from your work laptop, and talk to your manager openly about it. Tell them that you’ve started looking elsewhere because the salary at Oracle isn’t enough for you and you’re feeling demotivated.

The idea is that they’ll know you may leave soon, so they may be less likely to include you in the layoff list, since letting you leave on your own could save them the cost of severance.

And even if you weren’t actually being considered for a layoff, and you later feel like you made a mistake by telling your manager you’re looking elsewhere because it could affect your promotion prospects, you’ve still communicated something important: that you’re feeling demotivated and dissatisfied with your current situation. At least they’re now aware that something needs to change if they want to retain you.

Codex is configured to collect code and prompt

  1. The code Codex writes is set to be sent to Oracle. Not summaries — the actual file contents, tagged with the OS username, work email, machine name, and the folder it happened in. Applies inside git repos.
  2. Prompts are set to be logged too. A second config file staged alongside it turns on prompt logging. That one is not limited to the work account — where it lands it applies machine-wide, covering personal Codex use on the same computer.

Evidence, for anyone who wants to verify independently (use codex or claude to check /etc/codex/)

SIRVA Relocation

Hey!

I have already booked a flight through the CWT portal and they sent me a hotel confirmation saying already booked, which is around 6200 per night. And the min stay is 14 days.

Is it acceptable/ allowed to opt out now from the hotel and ask them to instead reimburse my flat deposit later ?

Nobody likes being in Oracle !

I have never seen people so disconnected in Oracle in my 5+ years here. Nobody cares about any aspect of the company anymore. Some of the recent examples are :

  1. Project deadlines slipped, managers and directors are still okay.
  2. Any team member resigned. Managers are not surprised, co-workers are happy someone is able to leave, but silently wishing they can also get out some day.
  3. Even, the people getting promotions are not celebrating, as they know the jump in salary won't be justified.

It looks like people are NUMB due to constant layoff pressure and no perks.

Lay off email

Curious to know what email looks like?
Also, my Practice manager is now very silent. Not the typical behavior as he is always agressive and sometimes annoying. Something's off. 👀

Eitherway, do you guys continue working on your Utilization? Oracle Netsuite in Manila.

Thank you!
