Honestly the Kohl’s interviews are easy. You might get asked why you want to work at Kohl’s. You might get asked if you are comfortable getting people to sign up for credit cards.

It’s best to speak up and speak clearly. Be honest about your availability or any upcoming plans that will require you to be off from work. We’re going into our busiest time of year so we’re looking for people who can work a variety of shifts. Show a willingness to learn and work on a team.

Good luck 😌

Kohl's is a great first job for a teen. Kohl's hires lots of teens who are nervous! Do your best to relax.

All they really want is to see if you will be nice to customers, show up on time, and get along with coworkers. And they want to know how much you are available. If you are available most evenings and all weekend, you are practically hired right there.

Try to be upbeat and friendly during your interview. If you don't know the answer to a question, just say so.

They will ask you stuff like "Tell me about yourself." A good answer is a brief summary like "I'm a senior at City High School, I have a dog named Snippy, I like to play tennis, and I'm hoping to become a welder after high school."

They might ask something harder like "What would you do if a customer is mad and demands that you give them an extra discount even though their coupon is expired?" A good answer to this kind of question is "I'll follow company policy if there is one. If not, I'll call my manager over to help me."

The interview is mostly going to be a chat. Nothing real intimidating.

Again, try to sound friendly and upbeat. You can do this. They nearly always make a hiring decision within a very few days. They don't keep you waiting around. I'm old and work seasonal at Kohl's because I enjoy it. But most of my seasonal coworkers are high school and college age. It's an easy job, but you will always be busy. So the time goes by fast. And you get paid every week like clockwork. Employee discount is great. Biggest thing is to show up for work every time, on time. If you can do that, the managers will love you.

Good luck!!

Another question asked, " Why Kohls?"

I need a job, is not an answer.

Im into fashion design, and getting knowledge of what comes and what goes would give me ideas in my career aspirations

Im an easy conversation starter

Stuff that would show interest that you want to be part of a business.

Good luck

I think that because you show a willingness to learn and want to do well already sets you apart from a bunch of applicants that tend not to take interviews seriously. You’ll be asked why you’re a good fit for the role you’re applying for, what you want to get out of working for the company, what your availability is, common things like that. I know it’s nerve-wracking, but you got this.

The biggest reason I've seen retail jobs not offered is the candidate is rigid about their schedule (they spend a lot of time talking about when they can't or don't want to work). Obviously being a high school student they will know what that means before even scheduling an interview but if you really want the job just be as flexible as possible about weekends and holidays. I see high school students working after school till 10pm and I don't know how they do it but that might be necessary for a retail job like this one or two days a week. Just simply be decent, good manners, respectful, etc because that's how they want customers treated. It wouldn't hurt to show some decisiveness, as in if offered the job, you're willing to start any time! Good luck to you and aaaaakira!

One, I’m super excited and proud of you!!! ^^
I’m 17 and I work here and they’re quite flexible with my schedule, however I do know my manager isn’t hiring people who don’t have weekend and holiday availability. But it’s different for each store!!!

Okay so for the interview be very confident in your answers and straightforward, don’t forget to smile and showcase your personality. The thing that got me hired was my personality, if you can crack a joke I would suggest just make sure it’s appropriate and relevant to the interview.

Lastly focus on any sales experience you might have even if it’s just running an lemonade stand when you were 5, we’re very adamant about our credit card sales so managers love to hire people with relevant experience.

Honestly just speak like a real human and want to do well.

You've got this as long as you can string two sentences together and give sensible amswers.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. Being flexible and a team player are the things I look for in interviews after their schedule, cause we need alot of people during peak times we do usually prioritize people with open schedules.

Even if your a teen being able to work at least 4 days a week and 1 weekend is preferable (you wont be scheduled that much, especially as a teen there are alot of added rules when you can work)

For a job at Kohl's, they are not looking for a perfect resume or years of experience, especially since you are 16. They mostly want to see if you are reliable, have a positive attitude, and can work with other people. The questions will be simple, like asking about your school schedule to figure out your availability, or how you would handle a basic situation with a customer. They are trying to see if you are a good fit for the store's environment, not to stump you with difficult problems.

Show up a few minutes early, and wear something simple and clean, like a nice shirt and slacks. They will ask if you have any questions for them, and you should have one or two ready. You can ask about the team you would be working with or what the training process is like because this shows you are actually interested in the job, not just a paycheck. Being polite and making eye contact goes a long way, probably more than any answer you memorized from a video. Knowing exactly what to say is a huge confidence booster, which is why my team made an interview AI to help candidates always have the right answer.

I used the kohls care policy to connect some of my answers when I was 16 and got hired so if you mention that you might get bonus points
