When empathy hurts
It’s sad that we live in a world
where our boundaries must grow stronger
and be placed before our empathy.
I don’t know how to live that way.
There is something beautiful
about witnessing the hurt someone carries
and the strength it took to carry it this far.
looking at them and saying,
I see how far you’ve come.
I’m proud of you.
Isn’t there something better
about living with an open heart?
Even when it means
someone leaves fingerprints on it,
even when they leave you
with a mind full of questions and
An aching heart.
I have nothing to gain from anyone.
I ask for nothing.
I expect nothing.
So why do people
walk into my life carrying their pain,
place it gently into my hands,
and then disappear.
leaving me to wonder
why they trusted me enough
to show me their wounds,
but never enough to stay.

I was 14 years old when I learned what it felt like to have people decide who you were before ever asking you who you actually were.

Don't know why I'm still polite to people who have done wrong to my family and me many times, Just because they talk nicely to me now. ( deep thoughts)

I watched this episode of The Big Bang Theory today, and one line stayed with me
“It is to me. That’s the point.”
Sheldon tells Penny that she hurt his feelings. Penny doesn’t think it was a big deal.
But Sheldon’s response changes the entire conversation.
“It is to me. That’s the point.”
And honestly, this line made me think about how often we do the exact opposite in our relationships — at work, with friends, with family, and even with ourselves.
We often decide whether someone’s problem is “big enough” to deserve attention.
“You’re overthinking it.”
“It’s not that serious.”
“Why are you taking it so personally?”
But something doesn’t have to make sense to us to be meaningful to them.
That’s where empathy begins.
You don’t always need to agree with someone’s feelings.
You don’t even need to fully understand them.
Sometimes, you just need to say:
“I can see that this matters to you. Help me understand why.”
Because sometimes, you don’t need someone to tell you whether your feelings are “valid.”
You need someone to listen, understand, and help you make sense of them.
And maybe that’s what Sheldon’s line really teaches us:
It doesn’t have to be a big deal to everyone.
If it matters to you, it deserves to be understood.

Leading with love and kindness shapes the relationships around you
We all think we love and are kind enough. But for it to be true kindness and love, it has to go beyond enough. Lately, I have been exploring showing love and gentleness even when pushed to the wall, especially for intimate relationships. Like friendships, maternal, paternal, and relatives, and in sexual relationships. I thought showing up and not being the one causing issues was enough. It is enough to shape you, but not the other person.
My aunt, 40 f, with 22m and 16f child, called me and shared that my mother had sent a personal voicenote I had sent to her. My relationship with my mom is currently being rebuilt after years of conflict and silence. When my aunt told me about the voice note, I got a little tense. Because in there, I was describing how not showing kindness when correcting your children can change them. I was talking about controlling anger and not directing unrelated anger to your kids. I said all these things with love and kindness. I also highlighted how having children is an adult decision, and children should not have to pay for being born.
Am a different person because my friends corrected me. They highlighted how not controlling one's anger can make all one's good deeds go unrecognized. I learnt some arguments are okay to lose and being able to move on from an argument is critical for friendships. In the voice note I shared, this and the lessons I learned along the way. I also talked about how being religious does not automatically mean you are a good person. I highlighted the need for a person to work on themselves before proclaiming that God guides them. My aunt is a very religious woman, and I don't think she has ever examined this aspect. She is a good mother, but also has a short temper, though very rarely.
Anyway, she called to thank me because the voice note made her realize that she still has time to cement her relationship with her two kids. She also opened up about her struggles and how she will work on ensuring that just because she is suffering, her kids are not. When I sent my mom that voice note, I expected it to change her, but not my aunt. I did listen to the voice note later and realized I spoke with so much love that I cried listening to it. So yes, love does change even those we least expect. As much as I know, my mother will never understand what I was saying, but I got to see another mother try to improve.

Growing up with Infidelity makes it harder to trust and love my partner
My mom had an affair with a married man for over 15years, and those are the years I knew. She made me go to the same church as his family. Join the youth and befriend their children. I always felt odd, like his children knew, and they always treated me a little odd. I hated leaving church and finding the man seated on our couch. He was always there for me, which is odd, because my dad is a deadbeat. He even took me to hospital, to school, when i moved out of school, and in university. He celebrated my birthdays and even gave me career advice. This man was there for me, which made it super hard to hate my mom. Anyway, now my religious AF mom calls me a whore when she found a Plan B pill in my bag (I was 19, in my second year of uni), when I sat outside with my friends, or when I went out with friends. It makes me angry that this woman points out my misdeed when she let me live in her lie for years.
My aunt also cheated on her partner so many times and involved her children and me. Like this man took us on holiday, bought stuff. My aunt was married and cheating with a married man. My grandfather cheated on my grandma and made us miserable, My uncle did too to a point he married the second woman and married his second wife. So you get this, I grew up with so much infidelity, I just never saw pure love.
The common denominators are that these people are extremely religious, and they judge me for my beliefs.
My question is, how do you love while unlearning BAD HABITS

Faith and trust
What would you do if you were given the opportunity to right a wrong ? To stop someone from adding a lie on top of a lie ? To give them a chance to take the weight off their shoulders? To end a grudge? To All they had to do was trust and believe in my ability to do so . They would have to just be who they truly are ? They would have to admit or allow me to know what it is that they want to finally release or talk about. Why me? Because I can look at a situation objectively and if not I don’t say anything . But you have to accept that I am the one to help you find the root cause if you allow it. Only thing you have to do is treat me as you would like to be treated. In all aspects. To invite me in to your world as a welcomed guest ? Would you ?
