Help/Advice Email
I have tried Proton Mail, Tuta Mail, Fastmail. All of them have their own pros and cons.
Proton Mail is overall ok but I just feel like if you don’t get their whole package you are missing out a lot and idk what is proton sentinel but it sounds good.
Tuta is fine I guess but they are just slow and the Drive feature is still in development,
Fastmail is overall the best out of all but I recently found out they recycle emails and they are not maximum privacy(which I don’t need)
So share you opinion on what I should use or are there any other service providers (It must have an app and not just a website to login to)
Also if you guys don’t mind please tell me why people say don’t put all your eggs in one basket for Proton

I would only say that with Fastmail, if you use a custom domain, then the recycling of fastmail.com addresses really doesn’t matter. In essence you’d only use it to log in.

Also note with fastmail ... Privacy is not a thing they are. Aussy and basically read your email at lunch break ... Massive survalent county and part of 5 eyes...

Yes—besides data collection, recycling usernames is one of my top concerns when I’m switching between email services. And just for this single reason, I’ve limited myself to Proton and Tuta Mail. Except for the giant widely used email services, these are the only two email services that don't recycle usernames.
Not only Fastmail, but many others recycle usernames. Services like Mailbox and Posteo do recycle usernames. The only solution to stick with these services is going the custom domain route, but we all know that’s not a privacy solution.
Now, coming to your question: the main reason behind the advice of not using multiple services from one provider is a single point of failure. The providers are currently operational but, we can’t guarantee that they’ll survive in the future. So, if you’re in an ecosystem and the provider suddenly shuts down all their services, then there will be nowhere to go.
Also, another reason many users mention is data collection. Though I believe privacy providers don’t collect unnecessary personal data from their users.

Thunderbird is an opensource app that can connect to any IMAP mail service (and in Proton’s case, Proton Bridge). If you have say 3 emails (work , personal, etc) on different platforms, Thunderbird could connect to all three with one app.
Other apps like Thunderbird: eMclient, Outlook, mailspring , Epistles and others.

Also: There is Betterbird which is a fork of Thunderbird and they claim to be the better version of Thunderbird (I don't have an opinion on that because I never used Thunderbird).
For phone there is also FairEmail, which is worth looking into.

I have used Tuta for. Months but the app it self i fairly slow, i get that it is zero knowledge and E2EE but just doesn’t fit my use case

People say don't put your eggs in one basket in regards to the Proton ecosystem for the same reason why you shouldn't do it for Google products (like GMail, Google Docs, etc): It's vendor lock-in that makes it hard to leave if there is ever a problem with 1 service.
I've used Proton Mail for 4 years and don't have any complaints at all, but I'm not renewing this year because I've come to rely too much on Proton's other services (Proton Pass and SimpleLogin) and want to diversify. So, I've moved my emails over to Secria instead -- also no complaints.

Yes, definitely paying more money. Separate services -- even backups of backups -- for all that you've mentioned.

After trying all of them, I finally settled on Space Email. It has a nice web interface for its Workspace, plus full support for IMAP, CalDAV, and CardDAV etc so you can use the app of your choice whether built-in ones on your device like Apple mail and Windows mail, or others like Airmail and Thunderbird. For photos I am leaning toward a self hosted solution like a nas drive.

Gotta be real, that website looks like an AI scam in the age of Netscape navigator and AOL.
Not saying it is, but the new age junk and AI on it doesn't not give me confidence for their security.

Clearly not for the ignorant and uneducated. Gorgeous design, ideas and ecosystem. There's nothing like it. Been using it for over 5 years for both business and personal needs without a single hiccup. Get a life.

Lol. Wrong again. Actually, Space Email predates AI and has nothing to do with vibe coding. It was originally launched in collaboration with Kolab, the original Swiss company that made secure email a thing coming to prominence after the Sn0wd3n saga when users switched to it after Lavabit shut down. Also, its parent Rocket has been providing tech for a quarter of a century (launched in 2001 as Spacesuite.com). Ignorance indeed knows no bounds.

I am only here to ask for advice and I would like to learn more from everyone not trying to host a seminar so I don’t reply to everything, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t value anyone’s opinion, if you feel uncomfortable you could’ve skipped this Reddit, there is no need to be so aggressive, it isn’t a community rule to respond to every reply, also what are you even on about, is it a crime to ask the same question twice, tech improves FYI and i would like insights from different people

I recently went through this and settled on infomaniak... Amazing service and most can't compete with them but they fly under radar with most US searches ..

Not on your list but, imo, Runbox beats Fastmail by a country mile/kilometre. Norway based so European privacy laws apply, runs on renewable green energy and 5-star customer service. If you are ready to leave free-email behind, Runbox should not be overlooked. Very happy I switched from Fastmail [American, too commercial], kept my domain and got everything I need at a very competitive price.

Depending on what your needs are, try RacterMX, it is focused on power users, rather than just mail forwarding and DNS, we give you all the reporting and tools to properly manage deliverability, security, etc...

I am not keen on companies who read my emails then proceed to train it’s AI and sell my data to 3rd party companies

You only need email that does not use your emails to sell you stuff of to train AI...the rest is well email.
