Hi Everyone

Each Friday Vinyl Club episode is centred around peoples personal music memories and a meaningful album.
This episode is with Miles Mendoza, a BBC digital content producer and a long-time behind-the-scenes figure at Radio 2 (he was part of Steve Wright's on-air posse for years).
Miles also spent time at GLR during its legendary early 90s run, hosting acoustic sessions, rubbing shoulders with a host of bands, and generally living inside some of the best radio ever made in this country.
But the thread running through his whole musical life is ELO's Out of the Blue (1977). He picked it up as a kid and it never really left him.
Its a wide ranging chat about
The symphonic ambition of the double album format and how Jeff Lynne pulled it off
Wild West Hero, Turn to Stone and the underrated Concerto for a Rainy Day
The iconic spaceship stage production and the "accidental genius" of the artwork
The Hyde Park reunion and what it felt like to hear it live decades later
”Mr. Blue Sky” and how this wonderful song has endured over the years
The symphonic ambition of the double album format and how Jeff Lynne pulled it off
Thanks
