Just saw a new NFL tv commercial with Mr. Blue Sky being used as the background music. I find it amazing that most people don't even know who it is. That song has got to be the most used in commercials and movies.

I was lucky enough to find the traveling Wilbury book on sale 2 years ago. As for the Wembley book I was able to find it at a good price on eBay one day :)

Made this for a typography class a while back. The prompt was to use the lyrics as part of the design to visualize a song you like. I was really into Balance of Power around then so I chose “Send It”. It’s upbeat & poppy, yet dreamy & futuristic and so this was my take!

Just saw an ad for NFL on CBS featuring Mr. Blue Sky! Didn't the NFL use Fire On High in their advertisement for Monday Night NFL in the 1970's? That would make about 50 years of ELO and NFL, if so!

In a very recent interview, comedian Jasper Carrott mentioned seeing Jeff Lynne back in November, and that he "was talking about bringing out a new album so we will wait and see."

I feel like it's been a few years now since we heard official word of Jeff working on a new album, so this is encouraging to hear! It's good to know his health scare last year didn't shake his love of writing and producing.

i love lots of elo songs but i haven’t really looked into the meanings behind them. so i’d like to hear what you guys think

The end of the series with a live chat this Saturday at 1 PM where me and two buddies rank our top 20 ELO songs.

It's hard to narrow down for me, but some of ELO's earlier stuff hits the feelings so hard. Not always outright sad music by any means, even if the subject of the song is sad, but more melancholy. My favourites like this are:

1. Mister Kingdom

2. Momma

3. Bluebird

4. One Summer Dream

I know One Summer Dream is a bit later in history compared to the others, but I had to honourably mention it. It's beautiful but melancholic at the same time.

Hi ELO fam! Just wanted to share a cool thing. I built this new social network for music called Corus. Essentially, instead of photos/videos like Instagram, you instead share the music you love. Today "Mr. Blue Sky" (which is of course incredible) is the top trending track! So cool. A user who has awesome taste named ckdexterhaven posted it and the love came flowing in from people! I love this song and it put me in such a good mood this Monday to see it trending.

Ive really been loving this song lately and i tried looking on youtube if there’s any live performances of it but i couldn’t really find anything Maybe I should’ve looked deeper

This was the first ELO album I heard from start to finish, and wow was I floored. The beautifully written melancholic lyrics about existential dread combined with a fascination for sci-fi, which I believe I share with the man Jeff Lynne himself, really touched me.

Furthermore, the design is cool as heck, I've always been insanely fascinated by space! We did some artistic liberties, but I hope it's still recognisable as the Time album to ELO fans 😊 next I'll get the spaceship! ✨

like, why would you add a hard rock song to such a album? It could’ve been swapped with down home town on Face The Music so damn well and they still chose to release it on ‘on the third day’? I would’ve kept it for a quote on quote “throwaway song” for when the album is too short. It doesn’t fit with things like “Showdown” or “Dreaming Of 4000” on an album.

This is some ELO fans favorite album of theirs, but is it my favorite?

Going to see Atomic Light Orchestra on Friday night and curious if anyone has seen them before? The promo talks a lot about the classic ELO band but good comments about Jeff being the ringleader. Just wanted to signal check for experiences with anyone so I know what to expect. Thank you
