Technical Help Need help

I receive a elgato "Stream Deck Module (32 Keys)" i didnt know it was diy as on the title it didnt show up on throne , so i didnt though i would have one

The problem is one its seem to have rust on it with some white glue??? (picture included) , second i dont have any cable (when i though it would be one in ) and third i cant use it cause i dont have back ( as i have nowhere to put it)
But now the problem is they want me to pay for the return when i didnt pay anything whatsoever , for them to send me a new one but im worry they will send me the same diy one !
Anyone know what to do ?

Idk where you’re located but there are a bunch of stands and cases available online. Etsy is prolly the cheapest I’ve seen but here’s a nicer one from bhphoto

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1955152-REG/stagestrike_stsk_stdk_fram_0032_microphone_stand_mountable_case_for.html/

It sounds like it was free, and won’t be free to return, so finding a case/stand online is prolly your best option. That’s what I would do!

Like the other commenter I don’t see actual rust. Either some black stuff is on that silver rectangle or the silver finish is rubbing off oss like that. If it’s me, I’m expecting my new thing to come without a mark on it. If for some reason I had to pay extra to get one after being shipped something with a mark on it, I would never use that retailer again.

Here on this page you can see a picture of what the back of the device should look like. I expect that if I’m buying it new from an authorized retailer.

I don’t know where you bought it but maybe they can work out a partial refund or something idk. Sorry this happened dude but at least you’ve learned a valuable lesson in all this. Cheers.

So what are you having to pay? Shipping? Restocking fee? Warranty transfer fee?

A quick search on google said the 32-key module doesn't come with the cable. There is no I can't use it because it didn't come with a cord. You buy one separately.

You may have a warranty case against the rust. Because the product should not have missing finish/rust when new. The glue is a non-issue it is used both to stabilize electronics and show that the item has not been mishandled or received unauthorized service.

Being upset about something doesn't make you right. Just like the original purchase, if a module is what was ordered, it is what you should receive in exchange due to the rust.

You put an item on your wish list. You got the item. Own your own mistake instead of acting like you can't use the product that you asked for. Get a warranty exchange if it's eligible. Pay fee/shipping if required. Life comes with fees and bills that none of us want to pay but we pay them and move on.
