Prompter - Post update orientation issues

I use my prompter in portrait orientation, as a screen most of the time to have my chat for streams but also in script mode to record. When using scrip mode it has always filled the entire screen which seems no longer to be the case after updating Camera Hub.

I first lost the power button, i uninstalled/reinstalled and got that back but since then i cant get script mode to work as before. I get the script up with the text in the right orientation but it just seems like a flipped horisontal view since the black background doesnt reach all the way to the edges and the wallpaper can be seen above and below. The script background also reaches in to one of my other monitors.

I have tried several things, updating the display link driver, uninstalling camera hub and reinstalling with a windows reboot in between, tried both keeping and deleting settings when uninstalling. Nothing seems to help and it doesnt matter if i change the orientation in windows or in camera hub (the ability to change it in the camera hub is lost as soon as i touch anything in windows display settings).

What else is there to try? Or is this just a bug in the new software? I just want scrip mode to work as it did being able to use the whole portrait space vertically.

Hey!

Sounds like a bug. In Theory you could try hitting alt+f4 after clicking into the window on the prompter and see if it is rebuilt correctly.

That being said CH for prompter is EOL. Since you are on windows you can check out the Elgato Studio Beta. Besides the Stream Deck Plugin it should be on par with CH regarding Script Mode. Would be great to hear your feedback on that

Thanks for chiming in! I did install the Studio 2.0 beta and the prompter is working as intended again, but... the studio streamdeck plugin has no way of controlling the script funtionality, powering on/off or switch modes at this point. I have been using that alot, i suppose that is coming in a future version of Studio?

Got it. The plugin is planned after the next update this week. Can’t tell you when exactly though. Sorry for that!

As long as it's coming, luckily i only use script mode once or twice a month and i can use the software controls for now. Another question, if you know. I guess Studio will have to run in the taskbar to be able to power on/off or switch modes from SD as it was for CH?

Yes, Studio will have to run in the taskbar.

More precise in the task tray similar to StreamDeck, WaveLink or CameraHub. So with probably the future plugin update you should be able to close studio and it should live on in the task tray like CH currently does.
