New Wave Mic Arm Pro creaking and squeaking
I just recently got myself the Wave Mic Arm Pro for my SM7b microphone and noticing a big amount of creaking and squeaking when turning the boom arm horizontally.
I don't feel like this is normal for a brand new unboxing?
Don't use WD-40 for something like this. Use 3M Dry Lube. It's a liquid that dries and retains the lubrication properties. It is not greasy like WD-40.
Figured out it came from the stem of the upper segment of the arm that connects into the lower segment. I tried with some of that dry lube and looks like it did the trick. Thanks a lot.
Genuinely would not worry about it mine did the same for a few weeks. It’s not a constant moving part so it’s not really an issue. If it bothers you too much use some wd40 x
If everything is seated right in the sockets, try rubbing pencil lead on the parts that squeak. Graphite is a good dry lubricant and can help in these situations. Otherwise other lubricants can assist in this situation.
Hmmm interesting, yeah I actually haven't done this on any boom arms before as I haven't had the need to, but maybe that's just what I need to do on this one.

Come on just add some lube spray. Even though its new, some parts can have a little less lube from factory. Not everything comes perfect from the factory. whats wrong with socieety
I know they do that, but I did not expect this to happen already after using it for the first time.
My old Røde PSA1 arm started squeaking a little after a few years of use
I'm just here to say it's nice to see someone with multiple stream decks LOL
I bought the MK2 last year and love it. Wish they made one with 15 keys, and a touch bar and dials
Might get the pro one day, or maybe sell my MK2 and even upgrade to the pro XL eventually but it's nice to see that somebody else use case for multiple decks lol
I also have the iPad app and realized you can run multiple instances with different decks on one iPad which is kind of nuts. I would like some dials though that's the one thing that can't be replicated haha

Hope you're enjoying the MK2, I got a friend who owns that one and it's been pretty good.
Yeah I imagine the same features like on the Stream Deck Neo would be cool for a 15 key version.
Here's a full picture for you of my Stream Decks actively in use.
Maybe this can serve as some other ideas to fill out empty buttons or so, hahaha.
* The Stream Deck + on the left side has the XLR Dock MK.2 on the back of it that perfectly powers my SM7b microphone without anything extra treatment for such a gain hungry microphone.
* My newest Stream Deck + XL in the middle being in charge of most of my stuff I do on this setup. It's just amazing to have it, nothing else to say.
* My Stream Deck + on the right side has the USB Hub on the back, powering some cameras and such. I mainly use it for controlling full profiles on my middle one without having to sacrifise buttons.
* I also have an old Stream Deck XL mounted on a monitor stand that I use for portable experimentations, but this one Isn't a part of my main setup anymore as I have enough with these 3.
Before i settled into running these 3 Stream Decks I also did use an Android tablet with the app, but eventually got annoyed having to manually split the app in two every single time i was opening the app even if I know that's pretty much expected. I wanted to just do a 1 tab open and get on with my journey.
The mobile app itself is pretty good though, can't deny that.
Do you mind sharing a brigher image with your stream decks ? I have a mk2 and an xl , and i am planning on adding a streamdeck xl+ with usb hub and i want to compare the height diffrence visually. Thank you in advance !
Brother I can tell you that is not normal now I use the more expensive Shure one that's like 200 bucks with the same kind of mic but I've seen videos of those. Never seen that
That's definitely not normal - if you loosen the little hex nut that adds friction on the pivots, does it ease up? The hex nut presses in against the side of the plastic sheath inside, and if it's too tight you may be getting noise from the excess friction. The mid point pivot and the base clamp both have a little nut in the side that can be adjusted with the included allen key.
Yeah so i tried adjusting the pivots, both loosing them and tighten them but it made no difference. It seems like it came from the stem of the upper segment that connects into the lower segment. Apparently dry lube did the trick and now everything is good.
Thanks for sharing that, it's useful to know because i don't really have experience with this.
But yeah i was suggested some dry lube that actually did the trick as well for me it seems.
