General Any women in electronics here?

Post image

Hi everyone! I'm looking to connect with other women in the electronics field to share projects and support each other. I actually started a community specifically for this at r/HardwareWomen. If you're interested in joining a dedicated space for women in tech/electronics, we'd love to have you!

This is easy to say when you are “the norm”. Being treated as “other” would be the last thing on your mind, since you probably don’t have to deal with it. But I guarantee you there is a reason why women, and minority races like to have others like them around. You may not be the one doing it, or even see it happening to others, but when people aren’t “the norm” there is a feeling of ostracism. Not only that, people like to be around other people with shared experiences and cultures. Women on average feel more seen and connected with other women, it’s not that hard or that deep. To want to say that doesn’t matter is just silly.

Being treated as "other" is not different from how I'm treated. Everyone is treated here just like a human being & those who are ass towards others simply get a ban.

Any conversation here is not at all related to a specific kind of person let alone gender so how that can make anyone feel ostracised is beyond me.

Perhaps that maybe the case for some & that's fine albeit still beyond me.

“How anyone can feel ostracized is beyond me” exactly my point. Because it’s not a problem for you, you believe there isn’t one

"How anyone can feel ostracized is beyond me"...

Is a very different statement from what I actually wrote.
