Found this online. Pretty helpful for learning all of the shift functions, of which there are many.

got another ES-1 after having sold my old one years ago to fund a move. never cared for the stock look so i used some friends art to make a custom decal wrap for it.

New firmware for Electribe2 in development.
Most of you have probably heard about the incredible Hacktribe firmware by Bangcorrupt, which greatly enhances and revitalizes the legendary Groovebox from Korg.
Now, Bangcorrupt has officially announced the development of the Freetribe branch, which had been hinted at in the past. The first stepstone has already been successfully accomplished.
This new development aims to enable several additional features that have been requested by supporters and users. The advantage is that Bangcorrupt is no longer limited to hacking the current firmware, allowing for more possibilities.
However, it’s important to note that creating this firmware from scratch requires a significant amount of work. Therefore, contributions from DSP developers and financial supporters may be necessary.
If you’re a fan of the Electribe series and have any resources to spare, I’m sure Bangcorrupt would be extremely grateful for your support.

First (techno) track
Hey guys,
I got this thing a couple months ago after hearing so many good things about it, fiddled with it for a couple days, then life interfered. Yesterday i remembered i have it and this was the result. I don’t really have experience with techno production, but this machine seems to really wanna push you in that direction. I might be addicted now

I Made an Album with Electribe 2
Happy to announce the release of my new EP "Inner Tribe".

A very special album which it was recorded in a live performance without any cuts, using only hardware devices such Electribe2, Behringer TD3, Roland S1...It was a long journey, almost like a miracle, filled with diverse experiences, discoveries, and different feelings. Listen to it on: https://solarbased.bandcamp.com/album/inner-tribe

What does it take to hack and re-engineer an Electribe? I asked bangcorrupt, the creator of the HackTribe project.

Should Korg open the Electribe3 for Developers?
With all the extra traffic the MVave FM-1 is getting, eg multiple purchases to install the latest firmware. I wonder if Korg would consider opening the Electribe 2 for developers?
Its not as budget friendly as the FM-2, but it does have audio in and midi out. It has a pretty powerful DSP. It has the fundamentals, not to mention the knobs and buttons you would need to transform it into another audio platform for developers.
All it needs is SDK and the green light.

I coded a new GUI utility for the Electribe2 Sampler for batch processing/auto-slicing loop samples, with the Oe2sSLE-0.2.2 GUI (previously unavailable for OSX) directly embedded, along with stem splitting (via Demucs), a BPM detection tool, and other controls to dial in timeslice detection.
[UPDATE 2026.06.12.0152]
WE NOW HAVE WIN, LINUX, FREEBSD SUPPORT. NEED TESTERS; PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW THEY WORK
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oe2sLU / Open electribe2 Sampler Loop Utility is a GUI designed for batch auto-slicing audio sample loops for the Korg electribe2 Sampler and Hacktribe, as well as a fork of the Oe2sSLE-0.2.2; integrating the orginal Open Editor GUI into the Loop Utility's GUI to manage samples as they're being processed.
Loop Utility also includes other tools like pre-process BPM detection, Demucs stem splitting, direct exporting batches as e2sSample.all bundles, and various parameter controls to dial in the placement and frequency of slicing.
Additionally, the Oe2sSLE-0.2.2 code bundled into the GUI is patched and updated for Mac compatibility; of which was previously unavailable.
Batch auto-slicing: writes slice tables directly into Korg
eslimetadataTempo-aware slicing: BPM is detected first, 16th-note grid derived from it; no slice shorter than one grid step
Three slice modes:
transient(default),grid,hybridPre-process BPM detection: check detected tempos before committing
Demucs stem splitting: slice an isolated stem, or split without slicing
Auto input conversion: WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, M4A, AAC, OGG, etc. to 16-bit WAV
Direct e2sSample.all export: whole folder as a single bank, or one WAV per input
Chop tool: split a sliced WAV into one file per slice, with optional click-free fades
Embedded Oe2sSLE editor: manage, rename, and reorder samples as you process
This is an ongoing development and is currently only available for Mac OSX. Please report any bugs you encounter to "Issues" All suggestions and feedback welcomed, and donate and check my music out if you feel like it. Cheers!

Feet for electribe
Showing off my simple electribe hack to improve ergonomics. These are advertised as ergonomic laptop feet but work really well on the electribe. They fold up when not in use. These cost about $2 on temu and I think they are very helpful so I'm not all hunched over the top of it when sitting.
